I have heard the owner is kinda not a nice guy. That is just some of the circles around here in Texas.
Before buying the 85 I had my eye on a 91 B4C/1LE (yes 1LE and verified the RPO sheet) that was a GM promotions car, never in service. Still considering it.
yea your right i agree....saw that purple b4c on ebay....i don't think that guy is a real third gen guy just looking for profit....i still got my black 89 l98 gta w/tan leather and t-tops and my 91 b4c i got 3yrs ago....i thought i bought the last third gen b4c that came out service in 2007....but p.haze92 got me beat just bought unit 892921 his b4c's 892922 long lost brother from chp this year...but he lives on the westcoast and i live on the eastcoast....so i think i still bought the last third gen in service b4c....this is a odd ball car but thats the govt for you fbi evoc car w/24k miles now....my 06 hemi ram got more miles 37k miles...lol...but the production date on my b4c is 7/91 should be a 92 b4c and has a/c but not a 1le but is loaded w/the locking trunk compartment...still got a copy of the govt title with the fbi as the register owners...this car had a high level security clearance....dmv would not let me title this car unless they talked with the fbi first and not the dmv clerck someone from the state capital....just wish fbi didn't cut rollcage out they f-up the interior....but thats the govt......
I talked to that guy a few weeks back when searching for a thirdgen. Yes, he is a flipper and has 3 other B4C's along with some Foxbody mustang police cars. He offered the Purple B4c with the flat black hood for $5250. I almost bit on it but it was gonna cost my $600 to ship it from Tennessee.
I have a couple of prospective buyers willing to pay $7,000 cash for the 1992 Camaro. If you are interested I will drive the Camaro to Utah and deliver it to you in person and fly back to LA for a total price of $8,000. I can deliver the car by Friday 9/3/10 and fly back to LA on Saturday. Let me know if you are still interested.
I have two other people interest in the car for $7,000. I changed the listing to $7,500 today. I will sell to the first buyer who pays $7,000. Let me know if you are interested.
Regards,
John
7 or 8 grand the price went up 2000 today. I told him good luck didnt know a car wash is worth 2000 plus. Hope it sells. Maybe with a new paint job among other things its worth 7 grand. I think its worth maybe 5k depending on how old the supercharger is. Even that is probably more than its worth.
He is definately flipping the car, it was bought out of versailles, ky. I went to look at it when it was here and could have had it for $3500. Had a problem getting the money together that week and the guy came from Tenessee to buy it. Its a pretty solid car, still worth what he's asking. I am willing to bet he got it for less than $3500 however.
On a side note, does anyone know how many PoloGreen B4C's were made in 92?
"how many polo green b4c's ?" I believe the Camaro White Book show's 6 polo green and 4 green/grey for 1992. Do you still have your original L98/700R4 engine combo ?
There were at least 16 DGGM(green/grey) B4C's made in 1992 and that was just for the FBI. Camaro White book is far from correct on production numbers from what I have found.

So, I need to ask again..As I think, It got over loooked...But, Is there some kind of tally up to this point.. as to how many B4C VIN's you have counted up?? I don't mean to be inpantient, But I would love some kind of total... 1991/ 1992 Please !!
been a member for awhile but this is my first post
just bought this car and have yet to get it insured. sorry if its been covered but does anyone know if ill be paying the v8 insurance or v6? i only ask because someone told me that the reason it says RS instead of z28 is so the HP didn't have to pay the v8 insurance??? O_o

Your vin will tell on you, it shows a 5.7l so you'll most likely pay for the Z-28 but still shouldnt be bad on an 18 year old car.

My old car wasn't a B4C but I recently came across a 92 PoloGreen low mileage B4C car for sale online and was thinking very hard about buying it. If I can find the link i'll post it. It was on a classic car trader site.

We have over 400 of them. All thanks to David in GA.
All thanks to David in GA. I'm not sure what thats means? I know alot of vin's have come from different people on this thread ! So is David the one keeping count, or sorting them out by year or color or something else? I Say Thanks, to all the people on this thread for chiming in.. with those vin...I was just hoping to see "roughtly" how many were still on the road ways today..Thanks for the help everybody..
You are absolutely correct. I mis-stated my remarks. It has been a group effort which everyone here surely appreciates but I was giving special thanks to David since he has come up with probably all of the 400 vins plus what we have rounded up here. Everyone please accept my apologies.
How many are still on the roadway is unclear more so than anything. As we were collecting vins and when carfax allowed unlimited carfax's for 2 months, I ran a carfax on every vin collected and did find a few totaled B4C's. I probably have well over $200 into Carfax doing this project. Found neat things like one exported to Australia, low mileage FBI cars that "were" still in service when I did them. Chevrolet didnt keep records like Pontiac. I wish there was a magic program in the GM computer that allowed you to pick a spid code and year, and then it would spit out the vins. As far as I know, they dont so we hope to complete this one year. Slow going but keep up the good work of posting vins.

i have a UHP (Utah Highway Patrol) B4C 1LE car that i bought about 4 months ago, from a guy who bought it in 96 from a police auction.
Sad thing is he painted the damn thing black (originally white) and its a poor job in my opinion... few rust issues.. needs a new front chin spoiler... interior seats, carpet, and dash pad were shot to all hell.. so i swapped in a cloth seat set from a 95 camaro, matches decently..still need to address the carpet and dash issue..
he also swapped in a T56 in place of the T5 (car is a 305 TPI)... i'll post up my VIN in a little while when i go out to the garage.. current mileage is 149k.
Looking for any and all VINS for the 1991 and 1992 B4C's. Still working the ongoing research. Thx. Please post full vin. This is for research only to determine how the cars were optioned.
Ultimate goal is to determine how many 5spds vs auto's. Thanks for your help!!!!!!
Just found this thread. Will post my VIN tomorrow if I remember. For now it's a '92 b4c/1le. 5.0/5speed. Originally all white. Not sure where it's from but undercarriage is rusty. Be back soon...
Ok, I saw one listed as a 305 but with 3.23 gears. It could be that the owner doesn't know the rear gear that came with the 305. Would a g92 RPO code lay the debate to rest and say it's a 3.42?
just purchased a 92 5spd b4c from colorado.. and i was wondering about the production numbers of 5speeds that was produced... could you piont me in a direction to get as much info about the car... it was a texas trooper car thats bout all i no bout it...
What would be cool to know is how many B4C wear slick/tops how many had Christmas tree lights it would depend on what the police dept chose after receiving them from GM.
Ill start with mine two spot lights one motorola antenna two lights mounted inside behind rear window mine was a slick/top.

I would really like some help trying to figure out where this car came from (what police agency)
Did a carfax, and first registered owner was in 1999 in Harlem Georgia, from the Georgia motor vehicle dept. Is that a police auction?
1991 Camaro RS (B4C)
5.7 TPI, 700R4
3.23 rear w/disc
1g1fp23fxnl144283..just purchased it dont no if you have it or not,,,wondering sense your restoring yours wondering where i could get the period correct radio equiptment light bar and so forth...also i have a couple of numbers in the door jam(182630 texas department of saftey) is a silver tag and the other C2- 630 which is a stamped plastic strip).wondering what these numbers would tell me.any help would be great thanks Josh
Ok so could you get a heritage b4c car? Someone mentioned it but I've never seen one.
No you could not. It's been tried and the order got kicked out. Then a CD player was ordered for the car and it got kicked out a second time. The third time the order was placed for this certain B4C zone called the dealer and wanted to know why this car had leather seats on the order. The car did get built with it's leather seats but it stuck out like a sore thumb when it was ordered along with two black B4C's with base interior in black and no power windows or locks, and my friends car was red with grey leather interior and all power PLUS a block heater in GA!!

The Cx-xxx series of numbers were used by the TX DPS to identify the asset. C1 referred to the Camaro, '91 model year; C2 was used for the '92's. The -xxx was assigned sequentially as vehicles were put into service (typically replacing a Mustang that was being retired). The C2-630 probably puts yours near the end of the line for the 3rdgens at the TX DPS. My '91 is eqpt #C1-329 and was put into service around May/June of '91.
The 182630 is a reference to the invoice when the vehicle was purchased.
