yep! that's one of the ones i'm looking for! When you can post some pix and yes a Vin would also help with my data base too.

What's the purpose of the VIN database? Is there a website you have for B4C history?

Pretty much just don't know if the info is posted yet but really replying b/c I'm digging your 91. That's what mine should look like. What springs do you have if you don't mind me asking, the stance looks lower than stock but not too aggressive.

The White RS looks to be stock height...and it looks perfect.

I too would like to have access to this B4C database. It's been several years since data collection has started. Surely there is some data that we can see?

If not, I pledge to collect B4C data and have a data sheet available asap.

Thanks

Hello, I love the car,...she looks real good! In reply to your question,... I am workingon a book project that will have all the survivors (1LE or B4C) cars. I wrote a book titled Junkyard Jets onretired airliners in 2011 and have been interested in doing one on the 3rdgen cars. Thx. Doug

I am currently working on a B4C-RPO Excel spreadsheet using vin numbers from this thread. I will plug in the numbers and post the spreadsheet to this site...no need to wait 9 years to see some data!

Thanks! They are factory springs and shocks with about 20k original miles on them.

Only mods to it are new tires (originals in the attic), flowmaster muffler (original exhaust in the attic), window tint, Lloyd's Floormats, and a hidden ipod hookup behind the radio delete panel.

More pictures here, interior ones at the bottom:

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

I'm not sure if this is the right place but I can't think of a better place to try. I am looking for my first car. It is a 92 dark teal metallic l98 b4c. I bought this car new in June of 92 from Dick Milham Chevrolet in Bethlehem pa. I sold the car in 01 or 02 at the time of sale it had a harwood cowl hood, the grill was painted teal it had tinted turn signals. Performance mods are in my sig. I believe the buyer was from Lehighton pa but not positive of that. Not trying to derail this thread but I couldn't think of a better place to ask for help. I did go through this entire posting. I don't think it is in here. Thanks for the help.

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

So, this thread was started 07-16-2004. I was wondering about an update on numbers? I'm not trying to be rude but after 8 years there should have some kind of spread sheet or up date. I think a lot of us were helping with the research hopping to get some kind of good information on these cars.
But, now im wondering if the information collected here is going to be used to publish a book ,that i will need to buy?

Sadly I don't. I searched high and low looking for a old registration or insurance card. I'm going to call my insurance agent to see if they have it on record.

It will be a bit harder to find! my father has been searching for his GTO he purchased new in 65.... he too is having some trouble....

When I purchased my 84 Z28 HO 5speed (photo posted) new I had listed and nearly sold it several times,...but something kept letting I go!.... so I still have it in storage where it has been for 20years now...

Best of luck and I do hope you find it! Doug

I am the one doing a book but have nothing to do with the 04 posting/thread. I think they were doing a data base on survivors and where they are today which is a good idea!.... I had interest in it for the book but will not list Vin No. I will however give credit to the car owners for allowing me to list their cars.... Doug

A friend of mine is selling his CO State Patrol 1991 B4C w/ full documentation... I have been hush about it cause I was trying to buy it, but that didn't work out. I will try and post a VIN for the sake of thread, but thought I would let some B4C fan know of one for sale at $3k OBO... I bet you could get lower. Great car for the price. Message me for his info and or questions.

I just purchesed a 1991 B4C. Glad to see there are other B4C fans out there. The VIN is 1G1FP2387ML196762. If anyone would have any history on this car I would love to hear it. Im not sure this car ever worked the road. It has no antenna holes or holes in the interior where equipment was mounted. Anybody have a rough idea how many 91/92 B4C's are left?

I was just talking to some friends about this. Figuring around 600 range of them to start with for both years combined and around a best case 30% attrition rate by this 22 years later would leave somewhere in the 400 range.

I've got the compnine printout from your car, breaking down all the options. Once I find it again , I'll send it to you .

Just remember that my statement is based on attrition rates of other cars, so it contains considerable hyperbole. I don't want to start an urban legend about all the B4C's being gone.

There are more than a few B4C's accounted for in this very thread as totalled. There are even a couple known that GM retained and then destroyed.

The very 92 B4C I own was purchased by Colorado to replace a 91 B4C that was destroyed in Denver during a high speed chase.

I came back to repost because I don't know what the heack I was typing or thinking. I was off by about half. Production was close to 600 for EACH year so closer to 1200 combined for both years!

So somewhere in the 800 range if we are lucky on the attrition thing.

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

I was driving through Greeley Colorado today and saw a white b4c. It had the spotlights, padded rollbar, all the same amenities that the other ex Colorado HP cars have. It had light damage on the outside right rear and right rear tail light with the corner broken off. Rear bumper cover didn't look too hot.

My wife and I were on the way to go somewhere in Greely and I told her that I wanted to follow him and get the vin. She said I was crazy.

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

I have a Teal Blue 1991 B4C with Gray Leather seats that I purchased in 1992. It has roughly 30K miles as I drove it as a daily driver for a few years. I have all documents including BOS. Window Sticker, Build Sheet, Invoice etc.
Are there any documents on the number of B4C's with leather interior as it was not an option, although if ordered, they built some. This B4C was ordered by a young man who had contacts with the dealer that provided the Texas HP with their cars! His wife got pregnant and he needed a larger vehicle, so I helped him out.

VIN is 1G1FP23E5ML181473

If I did it right Pics are attached.

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

Somethings not right with the VIN. The engine code is "E" which is the L03 305. I see the picture has a TPI, but even the TPI RS for the B4C had the number "8" designation for the 350. Every SPID label and build sheet that I have on file shows the B4C with either the "F" or "8". Can you verify the VIN again?

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

I looked at Compnine's database for 1991 B4C. They show a total of 403 in their database. They only show 5 of those with leather while the remaining 397 being cloth of some sort. Even if the data is incomplete (not all B4Cs in the database), it would appear clear the cloth seats account for majority of the percentage.

JT, do you have the full compnine access? They provided me an account a couple years back, but all I am able to see is the full list of RPOs. The old system let you check boxes for specific options and narrow the count. I can't do that anymore.

I also have a 1991 B4C, black with grey leather, never was in service. I was also wondering how many came with leather interior?

Since there's been recent activity, I will add my VIN in case it hasn't already:

1G1FP23F3NL126613

'92, 305/5-Speed
Currently in Tx DPS colors, white/black. Two spot lights. manual windows, door locks, a/c tilt, cruise, and am/fm cassette! oooOOOoooOOohhh. I don't *think* it's been posted here already. I didn't search, nor did I read the 11 pages of this thread.

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

Dang, I need to find the info on my old one. I don't own it anymore, but it may help!

It wad born as a 305 5spd, was originally blak, but was white with blue gfx.

When it left me, It had a 350, with Al L98 heads, with SLP Headers, TPIS IAT extension, flowmaster......

I am looking for the VIN.

I was the original owner after the state and then sold it to a kid that was going to Wyoteh or something here in Houston and then he sold it to a "collector" in Dalls. Last I heard about it.....

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

Well, I found it.

I searched and could not find it, so it is an addition to the list.

1G1FP23F1NL137769

1992 305 T5 B4C 1LE FE2 J65 C60 KC4 G80 N10 N64.

I still have the auction items; key fob tag, hang tag and auction notice.

I also have a GM Production Options book from their Service Parts Operation; Engineering Department along with an RPO list that I had my local dealer print for me back in the day.

If anyone needs anything or knows where this vehicle is, I would like to buy it back.

Re: Calling all 1991 and 1992 B4C's

I found a lady about an hour away from me (here in VA) that says she has a '92 B4C. She's willing to sell. According to her it was used for the FBI. Not 100% sure on all her facts, but I asked for more information. If it isn't a heap I might buy it.

I'll post the Vin and such ASAP.
