Need help!! Question re: 1987 Camaro underhood.

Hey guys,

I require some assistance.

Can someone tell me what those are those things (looks like relays) located in the corner beside the master cylinder. The motor is an LG4. On this particular car that I am looking at purchasing, the pollution pump appears to have been removed and there is only 1 realy by the master cylinder. I noticed on some other 87's with the same motor appear to have 2 addition relays of some sort.

I will add a pic of the engine carpartment later today if I can of this '87 I am looking at to show what I am referring to.

Thanks for your help.

Benny

It should be the fuel pump relay. TPI cars have three in that location. The other two on a TPI car are the MAF power and burnoff relays.

Is your motor an LG4 with the carburator?

Thanks for your reply

Hey Daishi,

Yes that is correct. I've noticed that on the LG4 motors (carb) the relay's are a bit different, except for one (in the middle I believe) appears to be the same as the one pictured.

I know one of the relays is for the fan, but what can the others be. I don't think it would be the fuel pump relay as this a carb motor. This particular '87 Z28 that I am interested in purchasing only has 1 relay, which has to be for the fan.

Any ideas?

Thanks again for your assistance.
