Free 82-84 firebird build sheet reproductions, for a limited time
To the first 3 who reply with requests, I'm offering to reproduce your build sheet for a 82-84 firebird. I have created a template and created my own fonts to look like the original. This is a test for me to see how much time I need to repo a build sheet and to test my knowledge as well as to see what kind of interest there is. I really have no idea what kind of responses I'm going to get. I'd like to get to the point where I can repo build sheets based on the invoice, but I'm not quite there yet. For this round I'm limiting it to the 82-84 firebird, as long as you have at least a partial build sheet.
I should be able to repo the Camaro in the future, but I have less data on them.
I'll need a picture the cowl tag, and whatever's left of your original build sheet, a dealer invoice is useful as is the window sticker to a limited degree. The more data the better. Any data that is missing I will try to determine as best I can.
If you would like me to try to repo your build sheet, reply to this thread saying so, then PM me. That way I can track who is the first 3.
What you'll be getting is a hi resolution jpeg emailed directly to you that you can print.
See the attached low resolution pic for a sample of my work. I have attached as sample from a Van Nuys build sheet but I can repo the Norwood one as well.
It's important to note a few things:
1) This isn't meant to be official document for your car. Its for display and entertainment only. Along the same lines as the repo window stickers.
2) There are a few minor difference in some of the fonts, this is by design
3) The bar code will not scan (or I might make it scan wildjeff), again this by design. It will look right to the casual observer but I don't want my repos confused with an original. (well, that makes me sound like I'm full of myself )
4) Don't ask me to add options or change stuff.
5) These repos will be my best effort and my not be exact, hence the "it's free"
6) Any data you submit to me will not be shared and I will not post any info on your car.
I have learned a lot here over the years and this is my chance to give something back while learning more.
I've printed some samples on ivory paper and they look pretty good. I thought about offering to print and mail out the results but that would cost me real money. Then I start getting into the anti-free realm. As much as I like firebirds and thirdgen.org, paying people to take my free stuff is a bit much

I could use one since I can't find mine.
What do you need? I have some things from the PHS including the repro window sticker, my Spid sticker, and I don't have a photo of the VIN cowl tag (rusted anyway) but everything matches (Spid sticker, Cowl tag, title, and even the block and Window sticker (I still have the dealer sticker on the back of the car so I can confirm it came from that specific dealer via the Dealer Invoice from PHS)
Sorry I don't have the build sheet besides a possible one on top of the gas tank the one under the seat is probably long gone.

Re: Free 82-84 firebird build sheet reproductions, for a limited time
Would the use of my '82 Z28 build sheet help the Camaro effort any? My car was actually built at Van Nuys the same day as the one of the 82 TA guys that posted his build sheet about a year ago. I've compared them, and they very similiar! My car is a J65 G80 4-speed, and the build sheet is mostly there and legible.

Yes thank you. Every little bits helps. you can email me at 82transam at comcast dot net( or PM me and I'll email you back). I will need to buy a Camaro parts catalog at some point but haven't yet. A lot of the codes in the upper section can be found in the parts book. but it does take a bit of work to do all the crosschecking, that's why having a partial or reference build sheet helps. If I need to find a code for a LU5 engine air cleaner its easier to look at an existing build sheet then hunt it down in the parts catalog. Then there is the issue for the Firebird and Camaro having different codes for similar parts. Makes it harder to use a Firebird build sheet to cross referece a Camaro build sheet.
