Formed Heater Hoses

Hey guys,

Not sure if this is the correct form, but I figured I would try here first. In doing some preventative maintenance, I'm trying to replace all the cooling system hoses on my car. I can get the upper and lower radiator hoses, but what do you do about all the heater hoses? Being the engine compartment is tight, the hoses pretty much need to be formed or they won't fit right, plus I want to keep it as original as possible. Any suggestions on where to get them? Looks like there are about 5 all together. Thanks for any help in advance.

You get the hoses from the dealer or you can go to Acdelco.com, enter your zip and search for belts and hoses. If there is a local delco store, it will show you. I replaced my upper and lower radiator hoses, and the 2 heater core hoses. Since none of them showed any signs of issues, I decided not to get the rest of the formed hoses.

Scott,

Thanks so much for the response. Has it been awhile since you have replaced the hoses? I went to my dealer and they supplied me with a printout of all the hoses and what was available still. Out of the 5 needed, they only have two available and one of them is the short piece from the heater control valve to the throttle body.

I also took a look at the ACDelco site. In my search, it only showed three hoses available and they actually look like radiator hoses. Maybe I am missing something somewhere. Thanks for the help!

Re: Formed Heater Hoses

I replaced mine last year. You need to call one of the ac delco shops that show in your area. I called the one close to me and they located all the belts and hoses I needed. The upper radiator hose was the wrong one, so they looked at what I have and compensated for the system with the correct hose. If I remember correctly, the heater core hoses were from another vehicle and were too long. There was no markings on them so I cut them to the exact length for the job. The hose itself was the correct diameter inside and out so it worked fine. That's why you should call the local shop. They may be able to hook you up with hoses from other models that are identical to what you have, but are not listed as being available. Good Luck.
