Re: 1985 Trans Am V8 only 58k all original miles

I dunno. I bought my 85 T/A two years ago with 149,000 miles and its in better shape body-wise than that. I paid 3K Canadian. Its black on black, 85% original paint, loaded with the LG4, auto and BG rear. This car is a very unique color, so if you dig the colour, its something to consider, you'll have a tough time finding another one. Note that the tail lights have been replaced with base model tails, and the spoiler is wrong too.

Re: 1985 Trans Am V8 only 58k all original miles

That looks pretty beat up for a 58k mile car. I doubt the milage claim, but even if it's true, it just doesn't mean much anyway because of how much body work there is to do. It might not be a terrible deal, but I can't tell if those are just funny dull reflections in the paint or if it's peppered with dings all over.

If it runs well, it's solid underneath and you don't mind doing a full paint job in the near future, it wouldn't be a bad deal. If you aren't up for a full paint job and replacing doors/panels, there are better choices out there.

Re: 1985 Trans Am V8 only 58k all original miles

Based on the fact its an LG4, that alone means I would not buy it. There are better cars out there.

I'm currently trying to get two Craigslist sellers to call or email me back (WHY do people list cars if they do not intend to respond when people call them????)...I've found a 7,000 mile "loaded" 86 TA for $9k obo, and an 18k mile 88 Formula 350 for $5,500 firm. Sure, a totally different price point...but vastly better deals than that car.

You can do better.

I would tend to doubt the mileage claim....just way too rough. How many people screw their cars up that bad in only 58,000 miles? It could be true but,.....

Definitely worth checking out this lead, but I suspect it will have a major flaw at that price.

More than likely 158K.

My '85 only has a 5 digit odometer, and it is very likely that this one is the same.

No doubt...I have emailed twice (no number given) and have not heard back.

I will never understand why someone posts an ad that doesn't appear to be spam, and never responds to info requests.
