Very, very nice ev305tpi!! With rims that clean on the inside, its definately been well cared for. That is an area that is sometimes neglected on some lower mile cars. When I bought my 99 TA last fall, the inside of the rims looked the same. It has 20k on it, but was previously owned by a very detail oriented person.

My rims look like that also. After a regular cleaning, wax will help keep the dust to a minimum. I should replace the brake pads with ceramic pads. I'd get less dust and maybe I'll stop better!!!

I would seriously like some more underside pictures of the suspension... I like the paint on the steering idler arm... never seen that before... Also the fact that it is all bare steel under there, without rust is amazing, simply amazing... Now I know what color I should paint mine when I go through it.

I know the 10 bolt axles were not painted, but I am pretty sure my sway bars were painted... odd seeing it unpainted.

Amazingly preserved and/or detailed.

I stand corrected, I looked at my 89 Formula 350 conv pictures I had of the rear suspension pieces before I redid them, and sure enough the sway bar was not painted.... I distinctly seem to remember my Yellow 87 was tho on the fronts...

It does not surprise me about the dealership painting the bare metal pieces... I have done it even though it is technically not "original" it will save them to some extent...

Beautiful car, Bob. I get to Huntsville every now and again, would love to see it sometime. I swear I'll have a TTA some day! Only thing holding me back is not having room in the shop for another car, it's full with 3 GTAs!
Great thread, one of the few I check when on the board.
ev305tpi's Camaros are incredible examples of the type. Plus, you won't meet a nicer guy.
I also really like the red 91 TA convertible, SWEET ride.

Trans Am Nationals was in Dayton OH last weekend. The show keeps growing and some real nice 3rd Gen cars were there. Here are a few of the cars, there were others but I choose to only post cars that weren't there last year.
Here's a pair of nice Trans Am Convertibles.
This beautiful 87 GTA has 15K original miles. It was a time capsule, complete with original Good Year Tires...I would not drive on those but it was a fantastic example of a GTA.
Here's the OP's beautiful 88 GTA. Competition was fierce in this class.
This 50K mile GTA was straight as an arrow. Heck of a nice guy owns it, we spent 30 mins talking.
The owner of this base TA and I talk each year. Great guy. The TA has 15K miles. A true beauty.
The 15th Anniversary car has less than 15K miles, the TTA 45K miles. Both were very clean and nice.

Your left rear rim has a spot on it by the lug nut covers. Could be a fly though! Sharp!

Bob, I missed a spot...I'll get right on it!
BTW if you look just above my roofline in the cotton field photo you can just make out the Iwo Jima monument in my hometown. This monument was the original cast for the monument in Arlington, Va.

I now know what a cotton field looks like! We don't have very many in Michigan. It joins my sesame seed field memories too!

Are you 100% sure on this? I thought I saw some black on mine, (the front of the housing that the cover is attached to, maybe that is just the color of the steel/iron, what ever it is) and read others of having it painted black. I'll have to go back and look next time I'm over there.
