I have the stock stereo out of my 84 Camaro, It looks to be the same as the Pontiac stereo and it works. It's a "Symphony Sound" with the little EQ. PM me your cell # and I will send you a picture of it.

I have a working AM/FM cassette from an '84 Z/28, and I also have a AM radio (from an '82 I think) that looks brand spankin' new. $20 each.

I am not sure, and maybe someone can help me out here. Did the 82-84 Firebirds have the red lighting in the radios, or where they green like the camaros?

You can also look at Fiero radios, they're identical. You will have to move the plastic thing in the back to align it with the bracket on the Firebird center console. I got mine (UU6) from a guy on fiero.nl. Works like a charm and I've added an auxiliary input easily.
