Heated seats?
i know there are aftermarket elements and kits you can buy for any bucket seat, but i was wondering if anybody has done it on thier cars. if so, mayb post a pic and some ideas on how you did it, im considering it for my 4th gen leather seats.

I did i to my 3000gt I had. Boutght them off Ebay for around $80.00. had the butt piece and the back piece. wasnt hard to do, but I guess taking off the seatcover was a bit of a pain as well as replaceing it. but all in all it wa a worthwhile investment. Im thinking about doing it for my maro as well. We are starting to have cold weather here...

exactly Stevo. last week I was working on my car in a tee-shirt! Of course tonight with the wind chill it is about neg-5.... but this still aint got diddley squat on Korea during the cold season....
As to the seats, mine came with little realays, but I replaced them with s quality relay that I knew woud work. had to many issues where a cheap relay failed.
I would NEVER add a circut with out it being behind a relay. Heck I added a seperate fuse box for my stereo, amps, WigWags, red and blue grill strobes and what-not. The block has a relay that energizes it. that might be overkill, but Id rather be safe than have my car burn down. Plus if I let someone else drive my car I can just kill the switch and all my doodads are switched off.

yeah, give. I've never heard of cooling seats, they sound like they'd be a sweet touch for any ride. and for both heating and cooling for just $30-20 over plain heating seats, the price is right

the cooling seats ive seen really arent cooling like ac... the seat cover is perforated with a BUNCH of real small holes and the cooling system was a small fan that drew the warm moist air off the seat and pulled it down and vented it out through channels in the seat cusion. not saying t is is the only kind, but it is the only one I have experianced. And trust me it was a darn good experiance.

my recaros have heat and a/c. a/c works just like described it's a simple fan with various vent tubes and the seat is perforated. it isn't noticeable to the eye. adds a good 25lbs to the seat though with the weight of everything.
the heat kits are a good investment, just becareful with your seats as you can mess your seats up. try disassembling a junk seat if you have that option otherwise just dedicate yourself and take your time. it isn't that hard but it takes patience.
