Re: Dash swap
Brother there is more to it than just a quick swap, you have a mech speedo and the 91 has an electronic speedo, plus the clusters are totally different. Do your self a favor and SEARCH, it has been covered MANY times

Re: Dash swap
He's saying it's going to be a lot of work.
Your mechanical speedo has an optical VSS on the back side that sends the signal to the computer. The 90-92 cluster wont have that. Also I know there is a cable converter that takes an electric signal and converts it to a cable drive, but I'm not sure if there is one that takes a cable drive and converts it to electric. Another thing is if there is a converter like that, you'll probably need a SGI5c box to convert the electric signal to 2000pulse per mile for your ecm and send a 4000ppm to the electric speedo.
That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there will be other issues.
Like Duke said just do a search about the topic at hand and I'm sure you'll find plenty of results and other ideas that other members have done.

Re: Dash swap
I'm pretty sure you could just get a vss from a 92 and put that in place of the speedo drive unit. You may have to get the yellow PPM converter box though depending on you car and what not.
The TBI cars have a 4000ppm vss and the Dash uses a 4000ppm BUT the ECM wants to see a 2000ppm. If your car doesn't need the pulse for the ecm then yea just get the vss and swap it out.

Re: Dash swap
I'm kind of curious about that now, the 90-92 vss where do you plug it into? Where the speedo cable goes into?
