Re: LED Dash lights
I used whites one in this application and i ordered these leds off of ebay, a pack of 100, I used roughly 80 of them. These came with the free resistors. After I made the mounts, (heated up some thick plexiglass so i could bend it, and mounted that with some strong glue), i put the leds on the mounts, and then used a wall adapter to light them up to make sure i got the position of them just right before reassembly. You can use these same bulbs on the shifter, not sure about the hvac lights. The route most people take is the plug and play bulbs, but they are a lot more expensive, (my setup cost me roughly $6 for the whole thing, considering though I already had the glue). There is a lot of resources on this site to find the bulbs you need to plug and play. i believe a lot of people use the mini wedge bulbs from superbrightleds.com

Re: LED Dash lights
Anyone try the LED bulbs in a car with a digital dash? The orange or yellow speedometer on my GTA's digital dash is hard to read when the sun hits it. I wonder what a blue led would do back lighting it?

Yeah your it is LCD. I wonder what LED bulbs would look like in a 87 GTA with a LCD Digital Dash? Anyone try this out? I'm thinking the outcome would be bad?

Re: LED Dash lights
Um, that's not possible. LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. Which is how the numbers/letters are projected. LED stands for Light Emmiting Diode. And again, it is the source of light. You can't have both.

IMO id say red, i have red all over the car, the dome light isn't as bright as normal but the dash looks great in red, its easy on the eyes at night and yet still very visible

Thanks. I've got my dash out now and I'd give my left arm for them to look like that. :]

Re: LED Dash lights
Has anyone purchased white LEDS and re-used the orange slip covers? Well I ordered "WLED-x5: 5 LED T10 Wide Angle Wedge Base Bulb" in natural white and will do just that. If it all works well and looks like factory lighting with a bright, crisp boost I'll post pics with half the gauges LED and half stock bulb before I put it all back together. That should give a good comparison. Restored 100% of the interior from top to bottom this winter and hoping this will only give me a brighter "factory" look.

Re: LED Dash lights
I used these, four of them:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...edge-base/206/
You also need the sockets for them:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...ocket/704/962/
They are polarized, so check function before you button it all up. Just hold the cluster in place and turn on the parking lamps. I had to rotate half of them myself. Mine do not dim, but my headlight switch is questionable.
Here is what the cluster looks like with those bulbs in it:

Re: LED Dash lights
Has anyone tried the 6 diode Led Mini wedge 194? I would like to know if its to much for the dash. Any opinions? And also what beam angle should I select if I do go with the 6 diode?

Re: LED Dash lights
I have a 6 diode in my HVAC and Shift indicator, tempted to go for the rest of the cluster but honestly the 4 diode works perfectly so it's not really worth the few extra dollars to go up to 6.

Re: LED Dash lights
I don't know if anyone answered this here or not. I know the cluster used T10 bulbs. What size are the 3 center bulbs? The 2 Turn signal bulbs and the 1 high beam bulb? Are they T5's? Thanks.

Re: LED Dash lights
The 194 are for all the lights in the cluster except the Turn signals and the high beam lights. The 194 can be changed to T10 LEDS. I need to knoe the size of the smaller top bulbs. The Turn signals and the high beam bulbs. What number are they? Thank you So much.

I want to come back to this. I like the LED look but not sure if I want to stray from stock. I guess I need to re-read this.

Re: LED Dash lights
Just replaced my whole dash, shifter, hvac and floor lights with red LED's. I'd post a picture but I don't have a good enough camera. I love it so much driving at night though, I just want to swap the overhead lights to LED's also. I'm not sure what kind I need. Can anyone give me a link to the best ones or just tell me what size I need?

Re: LED Dash lights
Try this for turn signals and high beam, its the same for all 3 and you have a few options. Called a 74, similar wedge base bulb like a 194 but smaller.
