Real Leather?

I have the "leather wrapped" steering wheel, shift handle, and e-brake handle in my car. Is it real leather or something else. I have a feeling it's not.

Re: Real Leather?

Ive wondered this as well.I took the e brake "leather" off the handle and it just feels like cheap thin vinyl to me.

I was thinking that too. The e-brake certainly does not feel like real leather. The steering wheel and the shift handle are questionable though.

Re: Real Leather?

I would have to say that real leather is used. You can tell when they start to go bad, they swell up and the leather grain starts to separate.

Re: Real Leather?

Cant say for sure on you FB guys, but my 84z came with leather wrapped wheel,****,e-brk & yes it is real leather.Maybe its an early year thing. There are different grades of leather & they feel different too.

The only place ive seen fake leather is on the non seating surfaces of 3rd gen "leather" seats. The grain is slightly different. Also the smell should give it away.

Re: Real Leather?

If its real leather, its certainly a low grade leather.
