Quick ?
A friend of mine is wanting to sell me his 98 Camaro for $3500. It has 114xxx miles and is an auto. Is that a good deal? If so I will not be keeping the car I just want to get all the parts that I will need for a good solid swap for my car (engine, trans, ecu, harness, rearend, brake upgrade, etc...) and part out the rest. I may seem crazy but I love the third gen body and don't want the increased insurance rate. What do you think? I have until tomorrow noon to make my decision before he puts it up for sale to everyone else. Thanks.

Re: Quick ?
For what you'd get, I'd say that it's a decent deal. I paid that much for my engine alone, & then had to find & buy the harness, the serp. accessories, the oil pan, etc. PLUS, you'll be able to sell off the parts that you don't use!
(The one downside is that the '98 engine is "less desirable" to a number of people because it's not quite as tunable, but if you're not looking for 450 RWHP, then I doubt that it'll be much of a problem.)
If you think of it that way, it sounds like a pretty solid deal...

Re: Quick ?
don't let the tuning part worry you; you can always re-pin the harness (or buy a different one) and swap over to the 99+ computer setup.
Having a whole parts car like that would be worth it for everything you can swap over, not to mention being able to make some of the money back by parting out what's left after you're done
