82camaro guy, very nicely done, looks great, only thing I would change is the exhaust manifolds, that thing is begging for headers Also I'd finish installing the A/C, I've had cars in the past and gutted the a/c "to save weight" and really regretted it, from now on everything I build has A/C.
Hi, Thanks so much for the compliments 89rsPower!, headers are definitely a must I agree! I am thinking Dougs long tubes, still thinking about how I want to go so hopefully pretty soon! a/c is probably going to come later as well, I figured getting the swap done first and then working out the details later. I am thinking of going with the Spohn tubular K-member in the future and that should afford me the space for the a/c compressor. I didn't feeling like notching my stock k-member so I just left it out for now. Thanks for the ideas and input, it is always nice to have when you are kind of the only one looking at the car, it is easy to miss some details.

Chazman, thanks for the props. I love that pic of your car parked next to all those Fbodies.
82camaroguy, I know you regret tearing into the car but I like what you're doing with it. As long as it makes you happy that's all that matters.
Great cars and pics everyone, lets keep this bad boy going.

2 more recent pics from last weekend. A local airport played host to some heads up 1/8 mile racing. Had a good time and the car ran flawless, but I jumped in my second race.
Slowly but surely getting her ready for paint again.
i love the 82-84 camaro, they just look faster to me, probably the gfx and the less bulky looking front end, dont get me wrong, i like the 85-90 91 92 gfx too
jonboy your car is one of the cleanest looking ones on here
matt rosey......yeah i put them on....they b asically are 82-84 ground effects...i had to make the chin spoiler fit on the berlinetta front end....the z28 had a different facia. and i was going for a different look so i made it fit
I love the early Z28's. Definitely my second favorite third gen behind the 91-92 Z28's. I hope to own an 82 Z28 one day and this thread is just amazing!
Thanks for the info Kevin. I'll look into it but I think that the silver stripes are growing on me.
I have a diecast replica of an 82 Z28 that has blue stripes and gray interior so I wonder if maybe the colors were reversed for contrast.
Makes for a nice display at the cruise nights, man I already cant wait 'till next year.
Lopedawg, yours is identical to my '84 Z (except yours is WAY nicer). this is an original color/stripe/interior combo. personally I like it much better than blue stripes. nice car dude!!
here's mine right after I got it. not much has changed except I'm building a 350 for it right now. crappy cell pic, but thats all I have right now.
I forgot about this thread as I meant to add pictures of my '83 CFI Z28. She's 95% stock with the only exterior change ae the 16" single stripe gold wheels (I have the 15" set stored).

I also have the 140mph speedometer in my 84...yours is the only other I've seen like mine with "Z28" printed on it and 140mph. I was told the 82 pace cars had that but not for sure.

Drjewalton if I remember correctly the actual '82 pacecars had them but the replicas couldn't because of the goverment mandated 85mph speedometers at the time. It was an over the counter item at any Chevrolet dealer. I have the box mine came in somewhere with the orginal speedo in it. Do you have a picture of your '84 to post?
KITT the louvers are the factory accessory aluminum louvers but they didn't come with the car. I bought them from a TGO member few years ago. I have always liked the look except on the rear wiper cars. They look odd since the louvers have to be clearanced for the wiper. I don't think I've ever seen a set for a rear wiper car for sale.

Not sure how I ever missed this thread. My '83 Z-28, 58,000 miles. Since those pics were taken I have a newer console lid. Getting the seats redone next summer.

I have the same speedo. I also have the original paperwork for the car, and this speedometer was installed by the dealer when the car was new.

Not a "peanut cam" in the bunch.
That is gorgeous! *edit* At first I was hesitant about seeing the 85+ front fascia, but it just looks so sleek in that color, especially with the color matched Z28 wheels.
