I hate those turbo daytona hoods they are so damn ugly. The one with the plexiglass inserts made me throw up in my mouth a little. Seriously that engine is nothing special to look at. It's not like it has a kick *** turbo system or an exotic fuel injection system to show off.

Re: hoods hoods hoods! post bad *** pics of your hoods
It might be the tire size. I bought new springs from PST but i bought them stock height because I was afraid to lower it because Irocs are low as it is and was afraid of the speed humps and bumps because of scratches. It has gotten scratched anyway. I'm thinking about lowering it though. I don't think it looked that high with the original 16" gold Iroc wheels becasue the tires were bigger but I don't recall.

Agree
Disagree
Strongly disagree...and don't bash someones car. Say something about a different hood or something instead of just bashing about his engine. Post pics of your engine...I highly doubt you have the kind of money to throw a turbo at it. And there is nothing wrong with his hood. It's just an opinion but I think that his engine (being dressed up) With blue ?K&N? air cleaner and top, which are both blue, along with his whole engine really accent his car. If you notice he has a nice metallic blue paint that matches with the engine.

I'll go ahead and throw my collection over the years. Started with the RAII when it was first offered by US Body Source and was freaking $$$$. I can't find my pics of right before the wreck, it had billet grills in the hood and new lenses.

ugly car, ugly pic but you get the picture
fiberglass hood installed by previous owner
car only has about 500 miles on it since i resurrected it from the dead.
Been dead since 2001. Irocs suck on dirt roads by the way.
It'll look better soon
Oh, that stripe?? There was a BRA on the car while it sat. When I removed it; the paint came with it.
BTW,,,how do you guys "see" outta them huge cowl hoods, I can barely see outta mine and its small,,,notice the dents on the front fender.

Here are some updated pics of my freshly painted hood. As you may recall, I had posted pictures several months back (first page of this post)when the hood was primered, and the louver holes were freshly cut.
Here she is now...new paint and finished louvers! I hope to have the entire car buffed soon.

STOCK, just the way it belongs. I was considering going with a carbon fiber cowl hood, the Sunoco, or SS hood, but it is just not worth it to me. Staying stock gives me anywhere from $300-$700 more to put into my drivetrain, and paint job.
I've been wanting to get rid of the Ultra Blue since I bought my IROC, black will look nice.

(Click on Pics to Englarge)
I was the first one to bring the Carbon Fiber Iroc Hood and now I bring the 98-02 style SS hood to the 3rg gen. I still have to file fit the hood and paint it of course, but none the less I think this style hood looks perfect on the 3rd gen. I felt that the current SS hood scoop (95-97) looked a little to big and out of place on the third gen.

Direct quote from Justin's Car Domain page:
"*The wheels are Boyd Coddington 'Hotrods' 18x8 up front and 18x10 rear with 235/40 in front and 285/35 rear Falken 452 tires."
All you have to do is look. I personally love them wheels, even though it's not really my style. The stock IROC style has really grown on me in the past few months. Not too flashy at all, yet beautiful in it's own way.

I don't know if the reaper is staying, i like it other than the blue flames. The previous owner had it painted like 10 yrs ago but i think the artist is still around.. might see if she can touch it up.

heres mine. far from done, but it gets the job done. bought the cracked bolt on turbo hood and then a harwood aero scoop. turned the bolt on to a pin on by removing the inner fiberglass. 1st pic is when i got the cracked hood. 2nd is inner section out and beginning of fiberglass. 3rd is how it is now with the corners fixed and the aero scoop fiberglassed on.

I hate those turbo daytona hoods they are so damn ugly. The one with the plexiglass inserts made me throw up in my mouth a little. Seriously that engine is nothing special to look at. It's not like it has a kick *** turbo system or an exotic fuel injection system to show off.
It's funny you mentioned a turbo should be shown off, because the car houses a single borg Warner s475 turbo now, a custom one off kit I built jus like the whole car. And the motor was painted car color so everything matches
you can grab the feb issue of camaro performers if you wanna see for yourself.
Look around the power adder section you can see it. Until then have a nice day cheving on the foot that's in your mouth

Ok so from what I can tell from the website, is that they do not ship to the US. And the hood is priced at 147,000 yen. which is a ways above $1500.00. It looks like a quality piece, along with their spoiler and roll cage, but just way too expensive I must say.

I have an OEM Iroc style drop in fiberglass hood if your interested. You can run either sytle louvers or none at all if you prefer. Also you will have the benefit of some weight savings as the hood weighs about 26lbs. If your interested send me your email I will give you some pics of the hood.

IIRC the stock iroc hood is 61lbs, my fiberglass Daytona weighs 35lbs. I think it weighs that much due to the steel skeleton still used on the hood for the stock hinges. Either way a fiberglass hood is a nice upgrade.

ill have to weight my hood soon. i took the inner layer off and added an aeroscoop. extra fiberglass and bondo should add extra weight
