Re: The Project: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5,7

ah. gotcha.. sounds good.. the holes in mine are gonna be hard to structure from the inside.. but we'll see what it does to start with.. if not, we'll weld it.. its funny i'm filling 8 holes in the hatch and popping 8 more.. I was thinking the same on the grill and making it a phantom grille.. but i'm still in the planning stages of mine..

Re: The Project: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5,7

Actually if you buy a can of Bondo there will be something included that will help you to close it from the inside first. But if you take a walk in Home Depod or something, you might get a few ideas what to use. There is some really cool stuff that is ment to be for other things but that work great. And cheap. Just take your time for a walk around especially in the sections at the end where the wood panels and the metal is.

Re: The Project: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5,7

Here an update what is happening right now.

A new pic of the color for the inside in daylight:

I started to mod the bumper and this is how i am planning to make it look like:

I decided to use the covers for the LED lights I want to build. I even want the tires and the exhaust like on the pic here. I already found the right LEDs too.

This is what I did so far:

Here in Puerto Rico there are always curious eyes watching

Re: The Project: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5,7

I slowly get to the front of the car and on my way I stopped here too. I saw this somewhere on a website last night and jsut wanted to do this myself today and it works great. I really dont want to spend more than 1000 bucks if I can do it myself.

Re: The Project: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5,7

haha i like it unique. until the car is not painted i can just try around but until now i dont regret anything. i dont have a welder either but i know somebody here that do bodywork so when i go there to design and weld in the cage, he will do those little things too because i dont have much experience with welding and some things you should leave for professionals. i just prepare as far as i can and the welding and final paintjob will be done by pros.

Re: The Project: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5,7

I'm sayin how does it work with that plastic bumper.. is it sanding smooth and how about the flex?

i have a good bit of experience with the fiberglass. we've found that its best to just hit the hardware and get the cheep like balsa wood handled brushes and just throw them away.

That is an anole lizard....My house is practically infested with albino ones. It seems like I'm always finding those both inside and outside here....

Re: The Project: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5,7

I have nothing against a FEW wild animals. But when you see them DAILY, if not hourly, and inside your house.....That gets a little annoying.

The population is reducing, even though I'm not doing anything to cause it.

Like the tarantulas....For awhile, I'd look up from the house, to see one casually strolling across my living room floor! It is worse during the warmer weather of course.....

Yeah thats what I thought it was. The only reason I suppose I find it neat is because there aren't really any wild lizards around here and anole's are $10 a piece in pet stores Stephen you should mail me a couple albino ones lol

Swapping the decklid piece?

You hafta unbolt the whole hatch (hinges at the glass).
Flip it over on a table.
Take the 4 nuts loose.
Gently pry/separate the decklid from the glass, without breaking the glass.
Then put the new one on (that you had to take off another car).
It has to be sealed good too, to keep water out.

Personally? I think it is easier just to fill old holes & drill new ones. If you change spoiler designs, you'll need to fill & drill new holes anyways so.........

Re: The Project: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5,7

soon. right now i am looking for some parts like the ground effect from a camaro rs and some other parts. i will bring the car to one of my surf friends dad, because he is a body work pro and he will help me to weld the custom designed roll cage in, weld the rest on the body like the new openings at the fenders and hood, prepare for paint job and paint it.

i will get some drag tires for it instead of 20" rims. i made my decicion here too finally.

sorry no updates right now.
