Just bought a 1985 Camaro z28, 5-speed with T-tops...
hello guys, not an avid poster on this board but no newbie to F-bodies. I do need to tune up my 3rd gen knowledge.
This is my 5th Camaro, previous cars...
1985 2.8L v6 Camaro Auto
1994 Camaro
2000 Camaro (I t-top converted this one)
and another 2000 Camaro
Either way back to the car...
I picked this up today, its been repainted, the interior is in good shape, alot of the bushings and little things have been redone across the car. It rides better then my 2k Daily driver, that I put shocks in recently.
The guy had bought and cleaned this car up to give to his son. Apparently his son wanted a '05+ Shelby GT mustang.
Only problem is when I get hard on the brakes it pulls hard to one side then evens out, feels like one brake is not actuating and is "hanging up" The car sat for a bit, also had a corroded battery terminal.
The car is I assume an LG4, I haven't checked out the RPO codes but over the phone was told no G92, no Iroc.
Owner says he has a brand new Rochester Carb put in it, and I may need to adjust it in about 500 miles as that is what the manual said. This is actually my first carb'd car. I am not knew to carb'd engines, I have worked with them on aircraft, but they are simple little carbs. Car has new T-top weatherstripping.
Its funny overall, the car has less problems then my 15 year newer Camaro. Hell the hatch and hood struts are even good.
I eventually plan to do something that involves 350-450 hp, and a manual transmission. I might go the LSx/T56 route, maybe a built sbc with a T-56, or even a LT1 setup.
With subframes, maybe a roll bar, and full suspension as well.
All stuff down the line of course, though I might do subframes first.
Either way few quick pics of the car.

Also you guys have some good advice for pepping up an LG4, I am not looking to go wild or dump alot of money, but just curious of the target problems and ways to give it a little more pep.
Car already has a !smog, !CAT, and full exhaust from exhaust manifolds back, into some kind of aftermarket muffler.
I am considering headers.

Few more non-cellphone camera pics. I need to figure a way to pull the front plate holder.

Very nice car yu got there! Drive it and enjoy it for a while. The exhaust would be a good place to start for pepping her up. If she were mine I would look for a 350 with a roller block. I would keep it looking all Lg4 stock under the hood!
