Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

Well, if I didn't have two hellion children tagging along with me, I would've waited up for you and went to the show with you. I highly recommend not bringing kids along for the ride. I got about ten to meet up and we rode out and went to the show. I left early to go kill my son that pulled all the model cars off the table. Maybe we'll try again at some point. I thought I'd have a bigger showing but, maybe it was just the wrong weekend. I cleared my schedule, delayed starting my new job and everything.

Yeh, next time we got to exchange phone numbers, lol.
It was a pretty nice ride though, besides my car dieing on my every once in a while.
All those country roads, very little traffic, very few cops. Me and my friends 4th gen were tearing it up!
We have a pretty nice car show in my neck of the woods at a burger king. You guys should come over to the Woodbridge area some time. I saw that you guys dident have that many Mustangs out there, we got TONS and very few third gens.

Its about 90 miles south of me. Not a short drive, but a lot closer then roanoke. If i go down there, we have to go to the 1/4 mile drag strip. All we got in my area is 1/8

There are two dragstrips near me, well sorta, Richmond dragway is about 15 mins away and Dinwiddie is about 45.

Dinwiddie, tho, is a much better track and they prep it a whole lot better.

1bird is the MAN! My son and I met him after he left Justin's to pick up some parts for our 86... he gave us good parts and very reasonable prices.

Last year a few of us met over at the sonic on Hull Street near Woodlake. Might be something to do again this year, or we could get together on Sunday at BWW. Used to have a group of motorcycle guys meet over there every Sunday and had specials for them. We could meet and take over patio. They also have non alcahol for the young guys.

Well, things have been downhill lately, but I finally dropped my new 350 in my car and got it running. Hopefully we can get something going around SWVA. Maybe we should divide it up and make the chain of info a little more reliable. I'm gonna try to hook up with all these F-bodies running around Lynchburg and who knows, maybe we can have a swap meet in July or August. My car is hardly what you would call "show worthy", but I just love to drive my car. That 200 bucks I spent to buy it was the best decision I ever made. Use to want a stang, Camaro drug my over the line and I damn sure ain't turning back. Let's try this whole thing again.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I'm around the corner from Justin at Smith Mountain Lake. My GTA is waiting for a new transmission...

Speaking of LS1 swaps, I have been reading up on them... I am starting to dream about doing one on my 86 bird... which I am saving for a full resto...

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

Yeah, Justin... if you talk to Dave before I do (we usually pass like ships in the night), you might mention that I need a working 700R4. I am working on a T5 swap, but it's gonna take a little while for me to get the transmission rebuilt and what-not... and I'd like to be able to drive the car in the meantime.

PS I am right around the corner in the radio station. Come by any time.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I noticed there was an All GM show in Roanoke put on by Star City Pontiac club. It's the 15th at Tanglewood Mall. Anyone around the area feel like making an appearance? I've got the 84 on the road and even if it's not pretty, wouldn't mind going and hanging out at a car show for a while. Maybe Hooters afterward if anyone's interested?
