If you are talking about Detroit Dragway, it has been gone for years. Here are links to Michigan drag strips that I know of:

www.lapeerdragway.com

I've raced at Milan and Lapeer, but have only spectated at Ubly. Milan is a nice track. Lapeer is not so nice, but you can usually get in alot of test/tune runs, as it isn't as crowded. Ubly is a very nice track. Though I have never raced there, I hear that it is the fastest of the three (Lapeer being the slowest).

Milan is a nice track with a decent crowd, but track prep is usually lacking. No experience with the other two, I'm going to try out Norwalk this year.

As far as drag strips (I don't know anything about those horse tracks, or any other types for that matter), this list is in addition to the previously mentioned:
Of course there's that track in Stanton:
Mid-Michigan Motorplex
Michigan's current all around nicest track:
US 131 Motorsports Park
Ubly's 1/8 mile "sister" track up in Kaleva:
Northern Michigan Dragway
A little known track in Muskegon:
Thunderbird Racepark
Unfortunately, we've lost a few great tracks here in Michigan over the years, including Motor City Dragway and more recently the infamous Detroit Dragway.
I personally prefer to go to Ubly for all around performance/price. It's a low buck track, but they take good care of it and their racers. Shut down area is a little short, and kind of hard to turn around at the end, especially from the left lane.
