Reason: Automerged Doublepost
Not enough 3rd gens at Gateway on Tuesday nights. I know Im not helping (mine wont get there until next year) I try to go once a month at least with my buddy in his 79 Monte with an LT1 swap, but it would be nice to see some more 3rd gens there because there are alot of 4th gens.
muddy 4th genners are a tough act to beat with the lt1/ls1..So most of them on F.A.S.T(stl) They can run 11 with just bolt-ons. I agree though..its time for some more 3rd gens..Mine is in the garage..it will be a while.
Kamikazee...yes i have a 3rd gen..but it has had its heart removed...working on a bigger heart/drivetrain..
Florissant here, I just have a driver but its an 88 with 63xxx on it so I dont want to destroy it at the track. Would rather give it hell on the roads.
... I got the car from the original owner that hardly ever drove it and parked it inside, it would have been worth something if he hadnt left it outside during the '03 hail storm so I got a good deal on it.
No longer have a 'maro but I'm from Leadwood, about an hour south of South St. Louis County. You all should check out www.team3rdgen.com its a site for all 3rd geners but most of the members are from the STL area. They have gatherings every once in a while.
Yeah I know what you mean. I just bought a 2000 Z28 6speed last night so there will be one more 4th gen at Gateway but now I can get a little more crazy with the 3rd gen. I hope it makes it there next year.
Thanks man. I have had it for a week now and love it. Its dark blue with tan cloth interior.
Now that I have the LS1 I want to turbo the 3rd gen with a T56.
GetIt, What you drive? I drill in Jeff City, I in the army national guard and i stay in columbia, mo.
I just bought an 87' Iroc 350 tpi bout a month ago from this lady off camaroforums.com.
$3000 with 86,000 on the odometer exactly when purchased. You ever thought about hooking up maybe helping each other out. I got a few things I want to do to my roc and itd be nice to have a buddy that stays not to far from me. And my neighbor is a good as mechanic. He just took a 11 sec nova that he built the motor for in like a week and he pretty cool. Anyway pm me your number or just drop my a line.
Latere Bro!
I drive a s10 and a Stang ...third genner is the project...also a student so Im rarely out. Usually come out on the car show weekends in JC. Which means next weekend.
Well I can help with the transmission...but only kinda. In Hannibal, MO Joe Ogden's shop is perhaps the best I've seen or talked to. He really knows his stuff...and has rebuilt quite a few transmissions for me and my family. He only deals with RWD transmissions.
Hannibal Transmission used to have a guy working there that seemed to know his stuff performance wise...however that was quite a few years back...and I never actually used them.
As for the engine, I've tried a couple places with my IROC...nobody really seems to grasp TPI. Its too new for a carb guy, and too old for the "plug it in a see whats wrong" crowd.
For a machine shop, there is a guy in Quincy, Ill who built my Olds 350, and did some head work on my 305...he's very good. Even has a dyno on site. So if you are looking for machine work, that'd be a good place to go.
Unfortunately all I know are the places up in NE MO...haven't had a reason to use anyone in the CoMO ( I guess not everyone knows this as Columbia MO) area.
Originally Hannibal. I'm in Columbia doing a masters in mechanical engineering. Was also here for my bachelors.
