Interested in the Milwaukee Region Sports Car Club of America? Look inside!!

For those of you interested in possibly joining the Sports Car Club of America or just simply want to check out some race cars, the Milwaukee region of the SCCA will be holding their 27th annual Sports Car Racing Show from 11am-4pm on March 28th at Schlossmann's Dodge City Chrysler Jeep (19100 W Capital Dr Brookfield, WI).

The admission is free and you'll be able to see Spec Miatas, Formula cars, prototype and vintage race cars, along with some SCCA Natrional Championship winning cars and some of the local SOLO competition cars (a.k.a. daily drivers that are raced).

There will also be information about High Performance Driving Events at Road America and the SOLO Drivers School.

There was an article published on the front page of the classifieds section of the Journal Sentinel, and here is a link to an ad straight from the Milwaukee Region SCCA website.

I'm not sure what times I'll be there, but there is a very good chance I will be there. However, my car will be left at home since it still isn't road worthy after this winters modifications. If you have any other questions about the SCCA, what they do, how the events are run, or anything at all, feel free to ask me or even go there and ask the elected SCCA representatives.

Hopefully you'll like what you see/hear and I'll see you killing some cones later this year.

Mike

If you won't be able to make it but are still interested in autocrossing, post here or send me a pm and I can probably address any questions or concerns you may have.

Here is a link to the Milwaukee Region SCCA website.

As long as the Camry passes a VERY basic safety inspection it will be given the 'ok' to autocross.

All the events are held in the parking lots of Miller Park. It's free to come watch the events and walk through the paddock/grid area. Just no smoking in the paddock/grid area and no beer until the event is over. I'm pretty sure they even enforce the no alcohol part for spectators too... just a heads up in case it would apply to you or anyone else that may read this.

If you do show up to for an event, I shouldn't be hard to spot since 99.9% of the time I'm the only third gen to ever show up. According to SCCA rules, I can't give you or anyone else a ride unless you are a paying compititor (liability/insurance issue).

Hope to see you there sometime!
