Anyone know good body shop in Twin Cities (MN)???

I need some bodywork done and a repaint. Most shops told me they won't bother with anything unless it's insurance related, and I won't take it to Maaco (had a bad experience there). The only good place I've seen so far does show-quality resto stuff, and I don't want to spend that much!

Oh, Drew, if you happen to read this, if you know of any decent shops in western SoDak/Sioux Falls, I may be interested.

Thanks,
MILT

There are several great shops in town, but they're all proud of their work... $$$$... If it comes down to it I can point you in a few directions.

I deal with a very reputable shop in Brooklyn Park. Modern Auto Body. They have this deal about ethics and quality. There is a sign inside the door explaining to customers that they won't bury the deductible, because the customer is the only one getting short-changed. They also have a sign telling customers that it's their choice to get genuine OEM replacements and to not let the insurance companies make you get imported or inferior parts.

They have done a lot of work for me and they know I am very picky with my cars. Just recently, I took my IROC to them to see if they would sand out some of the factory orange peel or even match the front urethane to the rest of the car. They refused the work and said that it's factory original, leave it alone. Another shop jumped at the opportunity to take my money. I decided to listen to the guys that deal with restorations and quality and I left the car alone!

Go see Dave or Mike and tell them that Scott Moyer sent you. They'll take care of you, and you'll be happy with the work. They will do whatever you can afford and they are reasonable.

Excellent, that's what I want to hear. Too often shops just want your money and don't care about results (i.e. Maaco syndrome) b/c they don't need repeat customers.

I'd gladly pay more if I know someone painting my car cares about what it will look like...

Thanks,

MILT

Check out Raymond Auto Body in St. Paul on Pierce Butler, they do excellent work!! Your car will leave there with the paint looking like glass, absolutely no orange peal!! I highly recomend them!
