I noticed that there is a lot of Buffalo area Thirdgenners here. If anyone is from the Rochester area, give us a line! If anyone knows where I can find a decent dealer for American Racing wheels here in WNY I'd be very grateful. Most specifically, I need to know where I can find one of their older center caps.

american racing

We can order american racing rims at work, but i wouldnt call us a decent dealer to work through... takes too long. I would call American racing directly - i'll post the number here for you tonight after work.

You must be talking about a different guy. I have lived here in LeRoy for 17 years, 18 in January. I'm kinda in between Rochester and Buffalo, but it's the same area.

I don't know how you westerners can deal with the damn troopers out there. I am from just east of Syracuse and drove out to Buffalo to pick up my sister from Canisius. Got pulled over 4 times within a half hour. 1 Ticket.(1 for 4 ain't bad) But they were all between Buffalo and Corfu on the thruway. We should start gathering at the Hot Rod Nationals in Syracuse every year. If anyone is interested let me know I will try to set something up. BTW this show is the biggest car show on the east coast now and have some killer cars.

92CamaroRS305, I'm absolutely interested in attending the Hot Rod Nationals. I'm sure some of the other people here would be interested too. When are they being held this year? It'll be great if I have my car up and running in time for them, but even if it isn't i'd want to go. It's also a great excuse to stop at Turning Stone Casino :-)

Jeremy,
My bad. I just checked the site and your car needs to be pre-80's to enter. I still plan on attending just wont be able to enter our cars. DAMN Turning Stone!!! I have "spent" a lot of dough there. About 20 mins from the house.

Totalling $235 and 2 points instead of *** knows how much money and 6 points. NOT BAD!!! Jeremy forgot the date of Syracuse Nats - - - July 16th-18th I am gonna try like hell to get there.

Hey, I'm a fellow Rochestarian.

We all should think about getting a trip to the lake or something together this spring/summer on that famous Sunday Night Cruise Nights.

Anywho, just wanted to say hey

It's depressing seeing some of these guys running their thirdgens in the snow around here. Holes rusted through the doors, hood strapped down with 200mph tape, or worse seeing one that seems otherwise rust free being used as a beater in the snow. Disturbingly common in Niagara Falls.

I agree on the thirdgen club around Buffalo though, seems like there are a lot of us in the area with semi-nice cars. There is already an Fbody club in the area but a ton of 4th genners end up taking over and us lowly thirdgenners are pushed aside.

So who wants to come over and finish porting my heads?

Hey if you can't duck it FLJCK it. Yeah its sad. Third gens dont get very good traction anyways. Hell I have slid in the rain. Well I guess there is always snow tires but that would look real cheesy. If it is all rusty it is prolly a piece anyways so who cares.

Yea, not all of the third gens i see driving around in the winter look terrible though, some look like fresh paint! There are two red ones I see go down Walden Ave. all the time, and it upsets me every time. I mean, my car is outside and all, but its covered and its not getting salty. I would love to put it inside but um, my garage fell down a couple years ago...............really.

I try not to get mad at the idiots I see driving their thirdgens in the winter because i know that those cars will end up crashed or destroyed way before ours.

Meaning, an increased value for the well kept cars and more parts in the junkyards for people like us.

Would anyone in this area want to have a lil car get together and a cookout and all around fun time in the summer? there is a big parking lot at my work, and the owner of the company is cool. Even though he calls me a car geek.....beer food fun and thirdgens.....how can you go wrong? Let me know who would be interested, out of curiousity. My aim handle is redgtagirl.

Digital very true about them going to parts yard for us to pic over but I would rather have someone with a nice camaro have an unfortunate accident and not care. Not a fellow third genner but just some kid that drives it cause it says camaro. If it is a piece before it goes into the yard chances are I'm not going to take any parts off of it.

Does anybody else know how embarassing it is to take your allready ugly winter car through a Tim Hortans drive through (ahem....twice) with some stupid thing in your exhaust rattling like a son of a gun? It turned out to be a very odd plug and washer type of deal on the bottom of the catalytic converter. That small piece of metal was so loud, i had to yell over it and repeat my order a couple times. Than, i feel the need to explain myself, so i'm like " this started making this noise this morning." and the drive through kid is like " yea.......sure it did."
Dammit

Hi
Just found this site. I am a wny third gen fan. I own a low mileage 89 TA ws6, 5.0 tpi w/ t5. Sadly the clear coat is totaly gone on top. I do not drag race the car but I do use it for track days and autocross. Autocross is like a mini road course for those that have not heard of it, and there are a bunch of local events during the summer. I would love to see more third gens there. Currently only a few of us at each race. I dont do very well but have a great time. By the way I found this site while searching for a rear axle. I am looking for a 10 bolt posi with disc brakes if anyone has any leads I could use some help.

Hey souse, that sounds like a fun time, and i'm always game for a good race. Let us know when those events happen, or where can we get information on them?

live round i believe it was monday night i was at the galleria mall, i was parked newr kahunaville and the movie theatres and all that, usually closest to the ramp so no one parks near me.....also on the lower ground effect peice there are 3 nasty chips on it, the previous owner hit one of those parking bumpers pulling into somewhere, not hard just enough to get that peice in 3 places, other than that its pretty clean (when i wash it)

Hello everyone, i didn't know there was so much activity going on in this thread! AOL decided that my alerts for replies on thirdgen.org threads was junkmail !
I'm definately up for meeting any time. Tom and I were the only ones to show at Applebees that night! but that's alright, I know Mike (Onefine8T9) was having some car problems that night and he wanted to be there. I think I'm the only one here doing a major restoration at this time. I'm swapping EVERYTHING from a rusting 88 Formula 350 into an 84 TA. Unfortunately, it's been too damn cold to work on it at all lately. I'm getting the already empty engine compartment repainted in the spring and then i'll start on the swap. In the meantime, I'd love to check out all of your cars and you can come visit mine until it's up and rolling. My # again is 984-2160 and my AOL name is JeremyNYR also.

The auto cross season starts with a school 4-18 and the first race is 4-25. I warn you that autocross is known to be addictive.
