Wow, sry I havent looked in this thread for a while. I just got a email saying someone replied to it. I do like the EPFBA idea. If we wanted to make in general name/club, i like FBCDV(F-body Club of Delaware Valley). And to make this thing really work, I can post some things on camaross.com and ls1tech.com . Those guys got a fairly good sized event together a few weeks ago at Peace Valley Park in Doyelstown. I couldn't make it due to college but one of my classmates did. He said there were about 30 cars. Mostly 4th gens. Here is a like to the webpage:

F-body Final Fall Fling Oct 15th, Doylestown PA - CamaroZ28.Com Message Board

and one to their video:

YouTube - F-Body Final Fall Fling

Oddly enough the corvettes in that video were on a cruise that my dad holds every October. They once got 90 Corvettes to attend the cruise. That is def. a site to see. Well enough typing for now.

One more thing. I can also sometime setup a vote on the boards to see which name everyone likes best. Once again, sry I didn't get back to this post, my school and work schedule has been tight lately. I'd really like to see things work.

So far I have:
Eastern Pennsylvania F-Body Association(EFPBA)
Eastern Pennsylvania F-Body Club(EFBC)
F-body Club of Delaware Valley(FCDV)
Tri-State F-body Association(TSFA)
Tri-State F-body Club(TSFB)

If you would like to add one, PM me. I'll start the vote in a week or so to give enough people time to view the post.

Thanks,
Ryan

As I told you via PM, I'll help out with the forums where ever I can. My phpBB is a little rusty, but it would prolly come back quickly. And if you can spare the money for a vBulletin license ($160) I would recommend it.

i like this one... i just wanna check out sum cars and shoot the **** like a cruise night or sumthin. when im home i should start pulling sponsers and stuff. We gotta figure out what a center location is for everyone around and guys (girls) ONLY 3RD GENS! no other cars. Ill try and pull sum strings for sponsers that I got for my car club. it always helps with door prizes and trophies and djs and stuff. Day or night? well ill get back to yea.

Well, being an FBody association sort of lets more then just third gens get involved, but so far its only discussed on TGO, so it should be mostly thirdgens .

Josh (Formula355TPI) has offered to use his shop as a meeting place. Its a little outside of Philly.

no, dont ban other gens...i love my 4th gen just as much as my 3rd gens...and as i do not have the money to keep 2 on the road at the same time, i may just have to show up in my 4th gen (my daily driver) once in a while. but obviously, it will be mostly 3rd gens...since its originating off this board.

I'm sure that the club will start out as mostly third gens, however I think if you limit yourselves to allowing only 3rd gens, you are going to be hurting your chances of having the club "take off" in the future.

Our club (New Jersey F-Body Owners Association) is open to all owners and enthusiasts of F-Bodies. We have found this to work well.

Now, I'm not trying to tell you guys how you should run your club.....just providing a suggestion.

Yeah what he said. Once you have the new board up, you'll want to advertise in other places, attracting attention from other people - all generations, bird and maro. You'll also get friends of club members looking into things with their cars, which may or may not be an f-body. While some folks may want to remain "pure" f-body, the best thing you can do is be tolerant if not inviting to everyone. Getting a good reputation and plent of representation goes a long way towards eventually attracting sponsors for your local events.

Start small and focused then grow once you have the logistics to do it.

I have server space, I have the domain name epfba.org, and I'm in the midst of setting up the forum. I use Yahoo Small Business for webhosting, and for whatever reason the phpBB is currently giving problems during install. I've found a work around, but it is slowing me down. I'm also in email tag with Yahoo trying to straighten things out.

Any updates on the logo. Also, any ideas for a color scheme?

Good to hear that you have things started. What kinda of storage and bandwidth do you get with that hosting plan?

10 GB storage, 400 GB / month bandwidth. I've had it for about 3 years. Yahoo is regularly adding on extra features. They are also pretty good with customer service. My only complaint about them is their site statistics service for php pages. Its totally inaccurate and pretty lame. So I just use my own statistics code (well, borrowed) to keep track of everything. I currently have 12 domains working off of the one account, and it runs great. Down the road if the forum picks up, we will need to get it its own Yahoo acount, about $12 a month.

Thats cool. I just had to upgrade the NJFBOA server....moved up to a Level 2 VPS from Canaca.com. The forum runs so much faster now - it's insane.

What issues are you having with the phpBB install?

When I attempt to install phpBB from the Yahoo! control panel, it gets as far as installing the phpBB files, but it never adds a new database to MySQL. My work around was to copy another database I have and just change permissions around so it will work with the epfba forum. I'm still working out the kinks.

Any updates on graphics?

Yah with you in school and me working F/T it's hard lol... I have Photoshop here as you know, but I really can't work on non-work related items. I'll have it loaded on my computer though this week ;-) 6.0, not CS2 though I'll have a good banner soon. Do you guys want a banner and a logo? Just one or the other? Etc... If I still had all my web design tools, I'd work up a rough design for a sweet site... but that's out of the question at the moment :-\

right now it comes down to getting server space. i dont know if someone has initiated that now...or if there's only talk. someone PM me if you are doing that. once we do that, we can do the website...then comes graphics (logos, banners, buttons, etc) which i've been doing to an extent but have slacked off since it seems like this isnt going anywhere very quickly...once we do that...we're good to go. but guys, we dont need a club to meet up yet...

does anyone want to meet up one last time before the weather gets too unbearably cold? yesterday was nice...there was a good sized meet at the auto zone in warminster on street road yesterday...mainly mustangs, but my 4th gen was there with another camaro SS...another may have showed up after i left. who knows. next weekend will be in the 40's...so it may already be too late...and we just lucked out this weekend lol. but someone pick a spot...i dont know where everyones located, so pick a good central meeting point.

Ok everyone, Sully91rs was very kind to grace us with the purchas of the domain name "www.epfba.org" now we need someone with a server and to set up the forum. i know as we enter the holiday season, we are all very busy and i just picked up a part time job working along side a professional certified photographer...but anything now would be greatly apreciated. Also, those with photoshop/illustrator/etc skills are more then welcome to design buttons, banners and logos. we can post and eventually vote...so if you guys can step up and do anything listed, it would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you have any questions. thanks everyone!

Update on possible meeting...ATCO this saturday or next saturday? can anyone make it? I've heard discussion from other f-body owners on PA Streets etc. I'll let you know which weekend is decided. It is a test & tune day. This would be a great way to have a "pre-meet" before we get official here.

thanks for your cooperation and efforts everyone!

Isnt Atco in NJ? Good idea but maybe we should keep it in PA? After all we are the EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA F BODY ASSOCIATION... Also Its getting cold out and atco has limited inside space provided it is open..

server space isn't a problem if you want it. I'll be glad to host the domain and set up a forum for the site. if you want to point the dns servers, i can host it for you. talk to me more at thewraith@techcessive.com, since i don't really read this board all that much anymore.

Yea, thanks Alex. I would have offered some of my server space, but my host has been somewhat unreliable lately, and I wouldn't want you guys to have to deal with the headaches that I am right now.

Can't wait to see this get going

19380 - West Chester, Chester County, PA ... '86, 12 second N/A Firebird otw I want to sell my Dakota though.. someone come look and buy it!

I am closer to Cecil County Dragway in MD or Maple Grove... I personally like Cecil due to the fact that there are usually less people there (Than both Maple Grove and Atco).

I've been to Cecil countless times, Atco a few times and Maple Grove once. Cecil has always let me get in a good 3-10 runs a night. Atco ... the most I've had was 3. Maple Grove, just 1!!!

I was actually considering buying that truck hahaha. I still love it but got a good deal on a 96 Camaro. I feel like I'm betraying myself since it's a fourth gen and it's a 3.8L haha. It's got T Tops though

i'm in allentown, and here's a very rough map of everyone so far. (you can do these with yahoo maps) quakertown is kind of the center so far, but since there are more people to the south, near lansdale would be fair as well.

I'm in Philly.

Wraith, I pm'd you about the domain/server/forum.

I like the idea of everyone interested meeting. It will be a better way to gather ideas and plan some events. Using the forum to plan and coordinate is a little restrictive.

Plus, with xmas time coming, people's schedules are going to get filled up, fast. So I'm feeling a meet next Saturday (the 9th) around lunch time at Josh's shop (If that works with you josh). I just dropped my car off there yesturday and its only 5 to 10 minutes from Rt 1 around the Neshaminy exit.

Post up.

Hey, it's all good. I don't really need to sell it to buy the 3rd Gen I want, but, I won't buy the 3rd Gen until I sell the Dakota. No space at all here. I'm pushing it with 2 vehicles and a motorcycle at the moment. Tell ya what. If someone buys the Dakota for $3000, I'll give you the motorcycle as well for free ('82 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk). It runs great, it just needs a new gas tank, or the rust on the tank fixed. Tanks go for $50 used on eBay. Anyone?

I reallyyyyyyy want this 3rd Gen!!! I'll stop trying to sell the Dakota here though

I am game for that... what town is his shop in again? I have to be in Malvern at 9pm for my company Christmas Party, but aside from that, I should be clear that day. Oooh, wait.. is his shop the one that's right off of Route 1, by the quarry, across from the cemetary in Langhorne I guess it is?

I'd meet up with you guys but I think I'm running at Atco that day.

If not I'll bother Josh at his shop.
