List updated.
I would say about 12 people should be able to get done in a day, leaving room for eating/problems, etc.
We have several maybes, and flakes are inevitable, so I'll keep adding to the list as the weeks go by in order to get a solid lineup.
So don't be shy folks, speak up, we want to see you over there!

Bennie, can you convert your dyno to read dynojet numbers? Those are what im interested in, to compare my car to others.

After doing some reading, seems very inaccurate to use online calcs. to convert the mustang -> dyno.
Too many variables due to valvetrain loss, manual/auto that any set % won't show for your car.
I've read these so far.
1. Add 10-12% higher HP numbers from Mustang to Dynojet, for relative power numbers on manual trans sports cars.
2. Granted we expect about 8-10% lower numbers on a Mustang dyno than a Dynojet
3. A comparison of results between different manufacturer’s dyno’s e.g., Dynojet and Mustang will show some variation possibly up to 5% of the whp reading.
4. Its been my experience that mustangs usually read around 10% lower than dynojets.
5. The superb Mustang Dyno with its 50-inch drum usually shows a power "loss" of 10-12% over the DynoJet
Seems too varied to me to try to compare, but around 10%.
If the dyno program Bennie has could convert, that would be interesting to see what #'s it uses.
Even Dynojets around town don't show the same #'s from one to another I've heard.

One guy posted this quote after a good explanation that I also happen to believe in:
"HP numbers are for bench racers anyway. A dyno is a tool that shoud be used for tuning.
To use it as a tool to see who's numbers are higher than who's...is useless."

I'm not needing a dyno, but just a few things for anyone to consider...
As mentioned above, the best tool-use of a dyno is for tuning...to take advantage of that, you get your numbers, and then go back TO THE SAME MACHINE , regardless if joe-blow's shop down the street has the same machine, you have to make sure it's setup the same as the last one you went to, probaly not likely.
hence the reason for "test and tune" nights at the strip. ET's and MPH tell the whole story, ya..several ways to correlate it exactly to what you ran before based on temp/humididty/elevation, etc..all the standard correction factors.
BTW, Dyno jets are not useless, I'd like to ehar reason that anyone thinks they are.
My opinion--
I go to a DynoJet, get my info...go home, change "X,Y, Z" and go back to the same machine and get different numbers.
How is that useless?

Yeah I wouldn't say they are useless, just that the Mustang has better tuning capabilities for the simple fact that since you are putting a controlled load to the wheels of the car, you can see in real time the effects your tuning is having on the power output.
That being said, "tuning time" is probably not going to be factored in too much in this session unless you have your stuff ready to go.
So like Mike said, the point for most folks will be to see what your output is and then you should return to the same place to dyno in the future once you have modified again to see the changes.
Like I said before, no 2 dynos are the same, best to stick to one if you are concerned with what you've gained since mods.
Mike, not interested in coming up regardless?

Ya know, I would like to get an idea of what my '89 does, but I have it on non-op right now and started in on it with the DA today. If by some miraculous intervention that I get some primer/sealer on it and insurance in the next few weeks, it could happen..but truth be known it's taken me 6 months to get the shop space cleared top roll it in and start sanding on it.

I'm not too sure what you just said Mike, but it sounded like only about a 1/4 maybe.
If it gets upgraded to a 1/2 in the next couple weeks, let us know.
Even if you want to come just for the f' of it, but I'm sure you'd rather dyno for making the trip.

lol, what I'm saying is that...
For the past year I've been wanting to get my IROC back on the road.
About 6 months ago I had a plan to get it repainted...plan was for me to sand it down and take it to the shop for paint.
Just yesterday I finally cleared space in my shop to move it in and started sanding on it with the DA sander.
Moral of the story is after you have a whole mess of kids your plans never change, just the time lines for completion do.
It sounds like fun, put me "next to the fence", maybe in a few weeks I'll be on it

some people like Moostang dynos more because of the simulated load against the wheels, I'm more interested in dynojet numbers so that I can compare my car against the rest of the stock LT1 numbers I've seen so I can get a good baseline of where I'm starting. Moostang dyno numbers won't help me with that.
If he can't give me dynojet corrected numbers then I might just come to watch.

Not hard using a calculator, however inaccurate compared to what the dyno can give you seeing as how there are so many variables involved it's impossible to duplicate it without the software's help.

Yes but they typically give a uniform reading taking temperature and humidity into account.
Nonetheless I want dynojet numbers, not mustang numbers.

they have some very nices cars that there working on. All the cars in their garage are builted engines with either blowers or turbos. I believe the rate to dyno car is 55 bucks or 60. I paid 55 bucks for my dynobut my dyno was during a dyno day so it might have been cheaper
