I sure miss the bird . . .
Last week the woman and I went to the smoky mountains and decided to take the long way round via US route 129.
Thinking to myself why the hell is this road sound familiar to me? Well we stop for gas then realizing its the infamous Deals Gap the Dragon's Tail
Even though I had drivin it with my girls 03 neon it was prob the coolest road I had ever driven on If I had the bird the whole way would maybe hit 3 gear a few times, wish this road was a little closer though.
Then when we got at the bottom there was a helicopter pad bad sign. I asked the lady how many deaths this year she replied "non so far, last year we had 5 deaths mostly crotch rockets going into the other lanes getting hit"
a few video found on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aG65w...eature=related

I had to run down to southern GA to pick up my enclosed trailer from the factory earlier this year and a buddy said he'd split the fuel for the trip if I picked up a car for him in NC (track prepped '88 GTA).
I wish I would've thought to unload the car and run Deal's Gap with it on the way back. We went within 30 miles of it. Dammit!
Oh well, 2600 miles in 48 hours was still a wild trip. Averaged almost 55mph over the duration of the trip and we slept in a hotel the first night and over half the trip was with a 24' box behind us
