Building a racecar...

So I've decided to transform my Camaro now that I have a new daily driver truck while the Camaros being built....Plans include replacing the hood and front fenders with fibreglass, replacing the rear hatch glass with lexan, replacing the windsheild with lexan, rollcage, pulling most of the interior, installing my TH350, 3.42 gears, installing my SBC 400, 800cfm carb, aluminum radiator, oil cooler, tranny cooler, rollcage, full suspension modification including adjustable ride height, disc brakes, NASCAR style wheels, 6" high nascar style spoiler, electric exhaust cutouts... the list really goes on. No gay stickers. I'm going to repaint my car white.

I ought to be done within 8-9 months. Just depends on how much time I'll have to work on it, as I'll be doing it all myself. A plus is that I have an actual lift to work with.
My goal is to have an IROC race/NASCAR looking setup that can back it up on the track, while still retaining (mostly) legal streetability. Sebring racing is a definate possibility. We have an oval track here that I could cut my teeth on. I would like to break into the real racing scene... not NASCAR, but definatly some serious AutoXing.
I cant help but think how cool it would be to pull up to a riced out Civic with that setup... The car is just going to look, sound, and perform like a BADASS... Does anyone have any links to people who have made road racecars out of their thirdgens?

Any suggestions?

If you want to run autocross your class would be C-Prepared. Lots of thost cars run the Nationals every year. Start posting questions about autocross setups here:

www.sccaforums.com

Now, if you want to road race the car starting today until you have your race car finished, check out these guys:

www.nasaproracing.com

HPDE's are open track days that you get to run as hard as you like and get decent instruction.

Finally, I suggest you check this out:

http://www.nasaproracing.com/proracing/ai.html

There is an East and West division. There is also a new Midwest division. This is what I plan to run in 2004 or 2005. In fact, tomorrow, I'll be running here www.beaverun.com (open track) and a spectator for an American Iron race tomorrow...
