NOS kit opinions.......

I got a line on an NOS wet juice system for my car. Its brand new in the box for $400. The NOS part number is 05151. i have heard that dry is the way to go on a TPI system but i also heard that wet is the way to go.
Secondly i hear that the NX system is better then the NOS system and that they have problems with the NOS system.

So.....anyone running a NOS wet plate setup, specially the 05151 setup, how do u like it. Anyone else that has info id sure appreciate it. Thanks for the help.

The #5151 is a good kit. Most people running nitrous on a TPI are running it. NX is supposed to have better solenoids (bigger), and they probably have better stainless lines (but maybe not), but besides that I don't think there is much difference. Most of the parts in a nitrous kit are not manufactured or designed by the nitrous company but are bought in quantity from other manufacturers and re-labeled. Where I work we often use the same solenoids NOS uses to test gases.

The #5151 kit has a plate that sandwiches in between the throttle body and plenum and sprays N20/Fuel in there. The NX kit uses a nozzle you place in your intake tubing. Some people complain about uneven distribution to the front cylinders with the #5151 plate with very large shots. I like the plate because it looks much cleaner/trick and you don't have to destroy expensive intake tubing. The general opinion is that with a small shot distribution problems are not a big deal.

I would buy the kit for $400, that's a good deal for a new kit. I think I would buy that kit again over a NX TPI kit.

The uneven fuel distribution arguement is the only thing I have heard against the NOS kit so far. I have now actually found an older style 5151 kit that uses fogger nozzels in the TB plate that you can remove and place in the intkae tubing if you want to run it that way...plus the guy wants $250 for it so im gona go with that. U dont think there would be a problem with a used nitrous system? The guy said he had about 2 bottles through it, hes got all the instructions, boxes, and everything else for the kit. Plus hes in my F-body club so i dont think hed screw me. Thanks for the help.

Personally i have a dual-stage NX kit on my car and wouldn't go to NOS. The solinoids are better and all the accesories are too(from the bottle opener to the heater). I'm sure the NOS kit will work fine tho. Derrick

I currently run the NOS 5151 kit on my 92 Z28 and I love it. I don't know much about the NX systems, or have I seen many people use them. All I can say is that I love the kit that I have. I have been running it for about three years without a problem YET!! A lot of people have the arguement that the NOS systems run too fat on the fuel side, but keep in mind that you would much rather burn a little extra fuel and lose those few extra tenths in the 1\4 mile, than to have nuclear meltdown from running too lean. Besides, NOS was the company that got the racing world started on nitrous, and I think they know what they are doing. Follow the instructions and you won't have a problem either.

Definitly run to rich then too lean

what kind of HP shots are you guys running with your 5151 kits? How much time does your shot take off of your ET? Im thinking of running a 100 shot and then stepping up to a 150 shot if all my internals are ok after i do my new heads and cam. BTW ill be running a lunati nitrous cam to get the most out of the system. How you you change the HP level of the shot with the 5151? Thanks
