Nitropropane!!!

Has anyone here dealt with this? It seems to be like nitromethane, but it mixes with gasoline.

The car isnt done yet, still waiting on funds for a new rear, so I'm forced to read and read about new power. Havent even gotten the car on the track yet, but I'm assuming it will hit low 10's, so I am preparing myself for the battle into the 9's. I could throw a 75hp shot of nos on it, but its a little risky if not done perfect. (Along with the blower)

Re: Nitropropane!!!

are you refering to N2O & propane?
are you talking about using propane as the enrichener for the n2o shot? propane is a great fuel to use for n2o due to its detonation resistance-but not many people do it cause you then gotta have 2 bottles(1 propane and 1 n2o) and since not many people due it your kinda on your own when choosing jet sizes for the propane. im sure theirs probably other reason too-i havnt tried it but i always thought it would be a fun project-just dont have the money to experiment with anything that crazy right now.

also are you sure that when you read about it they werent talking about diesel engines-alot of diesel guys run propane and n2o, but in a diesel the propane is not the enrichener but rather a 2nd type of power adder

Re: Nitropropane!!!

No its already mixed. Not sure of the ratio. It doesnt produce as much power as nitromethane, and I dont think anyone runs it straight, but it does mix with gasoline unlike nitrometh. It is a pro-detonant though. It doesnt give you any power like NO2, and at $30 a gallon its pricey. It also shows up on the fuel tech test. But if you need a little more goose without tearing into your engine, its something to look into. It doesnt seem to be very popular so I can't find too much info on it, but it does give a significant power increase.
Klotz has an additive called coxoc, which is 50/50 nitropropane and "koolinol"?? 70 bucks a gallon though....

Hope I didn't let anyone's secret out.......

Also sounds like this stuff is more risky than no2....
