I am going to have to agree with most the people on here, I have referred probably 100 People to TGO before the change and I told one person about it and i think the "new members" cannot see past the fact of all the ads, the first thing he said is it looks like they are trying to sell me something, which i know is not true but the ads up top might be loosing more memebers then it is bringing in... thats just my opinion though...
To the purchaser: Congrats on buying an awesome site, i hope you keep it as great as it was.

Coming into TGO was a way to be on the Internet without being over run by it with junk. Adding all that junk in here over commercializes TGO and makes it look trashy! Again, just my 2 cents.

This is what needs to be changed. If someone wants to reply to a post, they should see the reply first, not ads!! And why is Toyota even mentioned? All ads should be in a place accessible to those that are interested in looking at them. For the rest, put them at the very bottom where we don't have to see them.

Also, is it possible to get the outline tree below the TGO advertisors? When you want to back up one level, it would be convenient to go to the top of the thread, instead of the top of the page. Again, just my .02.

The ads make this site look incredibly trashy. Please get rid of them. You can find SOOOO many sponsers that are actually Fbody oriented and would love to be shown on a site that has as many viewers as this one does.

#1 Ads by google has limited admin capabilities. Basically it looks at the content of a page and generates it's own ads. So what you are seeing is based upon what the page is dynamically creating. We have very little control over that. If you have a problem with a specific ad you are more then welcome to PM me and I'll look into it.
As for ad placement. We are throwing around ideas to make everyone involved satisfied. Please give some time to work out the details. Until then, just remember that fellow third gen enthusiast are still coming here and appreciate the information that each and everyone has to offer.

Here's a great idea, contact actual fbody parts suppliers, and ask them if they want to sponser a site with 45,000 members and an average of 150 people online at any one time. That seems alot better than selling out to f*cking google.
If google actually put up real fbody oriented ads it might not be that bad.. but right now im looking at "jimmy vasser chevy - large selection of used and new chevy browse by make, year, price, more"
I wish Dirk had sold the site to a real enthusiast. This is an awesome site, I hate to see **** like this happen.

That's what I liked about the old site, dirk wasn't out to make a buck. The sponsers helped pay server bills, and he ran it for the thirdgen enthusiast.
I guess the new owners don't have much integrity, and decided to sell out to google. They could probably get MUCH MORE revenue if they went with real fbody sponsers. Hell I wouldn't care if they wanted to make a buck or two, but at least put real sponsers up there that can help the people coming to this site find what they need.

Thats the car world. Everything good is being sold off to become cash cow sponsor ******.
Last years the GS Nats got sold to a corp sponsor thats gonna turn it into a wood stock event. People who run this site and event runners like the GS Nats forget its the people who make the event. There is no event if no one shows.
Might be time to start yet another 3rd gen site. Its the users that make it popular and successful.

As it has been said over and over again, it was for the enthusiast, until it was sold off. Hate to see a good site start going south. But i guess if they lose members or don't get as many new members as the old site was bringing in, then it is their fault since they didn't take the suggestions from the current members to heart.
