A Truck Site Please!

Site owners need to start a truck site! TGO has been inundated with truck folks the last several months, all claiming there's no tech truck sites on the web. EVERY forum has a sticky with the TGO guidelines clearly posted, and day after day I see posts from folks with trucks.

Sorry - not meaning to just kick truck folks in the face here - but this is supposed to be a 3rd gen F-body site is it not? The vast majority of us here ARE here because we are interested in 3rd gen F-bodies and not trucks or any other vehicle type, whether GM or others.

And I understand that the engine/drivetrain components are very similar if not the same. But then again, there's alot similar in Caddy's, Olds, Buicks, Pontiacs not birds, etc. On this logic, my 1987 Ford Bronco II has a TBI on it, AND it's a truck! Maybe I can get some tech help on TGO for it, huh? EVERY car manufacturer has a TBI of some kind, a system very similar to TPI, and most definitely carbs. But WE are Third Gens - it just kind of disheartening to see it get watered down.

Maybe the site owners could get a truck site going and increase their revenues by selling ad space etc. that deals with trucks, while providing a forum for these truckers. The site is done - no work involved - just copy and paste TGO minus the threads, and serve it up.

Maybe there is already - I don't remember, it's been a few years since I registered - but maybe a required reading of the forum rules, and acceptance of such BEFORE registration is finalized? Maybe an automated email sent to the prospective registrants reminding them that this IS a 3rd gen F-body site, not a truck site, or a Buick site, or a Nissan site - with a required acknowledgement of the email before final registration is confirmed?

I tried wearing my Camaro hat "trucker style", but it just doesn't quite feel right. I just think if we are going to be TGO, then we need to be Third Gen Organization!

Regardless - much thanks for being here at all!

re: A Truck Site Please!

If there are posts that don't belong here on ThirdGen.org, please use the icon found inside every single post to report the post to the proper staff so that the staff can make the final call as to if the post is in violation of our Guidelines and if action is necessary.

I know that sometimes the staff lets some topics slide, especially DYI Prom as ThirdGen.org has played an important role in that area and had/has some very knowledgeable members in that field.

There is a website for just about every topic. Some of the truck-based forums that are already within our network for different manufactures:

http://www.blazerforum.com/forum/
http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/
http://www.truckforums.com/forum/
http://www.ford-trucks.com/
http://www.f150online.com/
http://www.4runnerforum.com/forum/
http://www.chevroletforum.com/forum/

So, really, the sites do exist. Simply please use icon and let the staff handle from there.

Thanks.
