You guys will know better than the rest of the board.... Can I remove my airbag equiped steering wheel and replace it with a non airbag one? Is this legal, and will the car pass inspection in Houston/Pasadena?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes you can remove it and replace it with a non-airbag one.
I don't know if it is legal?????
But my camaro passed inspection...
I have a GT Grant steering wheel on mine.
When I read your post, I started to wonder how mine passed the inspection. I never thought about it failing because I removed the airbag. But, it passed!!

It depends. I guess it would only matter if they knew that it CAME with one. And considering the number of factory cars that didn't come with an airbag, they might not realise it should be there.

I would recomend disconnecting the battery first, or it might be a day you never forget
A car thief in houston supposidly was drilling out the lock on a Benz and dedonated the bag, dislocating his sholder. (I have my doubts on if its true, but sounds plausable)
And I have never heard of a law keeping you from removing the bag.

Im having my friend ask his cop dad if there are any sorts of laws... I'll report back just so we all know
extra question: how much do ya'll think a donar car with a good LT1 in it would cost? Would buying a donar car be easier/cheaper than just buying the engine and not knowing what else you will need?

Yep, it's fully assembled.
I'd buy it, but just don't have the funds at the moment.
My dad is thinking about buying it for his 69 Chevelle, but I doubt he will.
