On a side note: Kevin89formula wont have his car back in time for the meet, but he will be bringing an extra pit and mable a fold out table with a big umbrella (that way we can set the food under it in the shade).
He may also have a surprise for all that show in the form of a TGO member vinyl decal (for a small fee or course)... I'll post the pic of one when he sends it to me.
I could get there early and claim a spot as well as my friend who just got his third third gen... I'm still trying to loosen up all the odds and ends on mine and cramming to get it all in and done.. You guys Pm me with a phone number of a contact that I can call when I get a spot.. Name and number please... I'll hopefully be the one with the large a$$ easy up and the black Z28

Kevin89formula is supposed to be bringing some vinyl stickers available for purchase with a logo (the same one as on the 2005 and 2006 event shirts). It looks like this....

My bird might not make it, i am trying to find somebody willing to do the exhaust on it but closest place is 30 miles away, i don't think i could drive that far with just manifolds. I'll still come just will be in my stealth if i still can't get the exhaust done.

Re: Official Summer 2009 Houston Area Thirdgen Gathering: Post here!
well my car is out, i'm still going in the truck, but the camaro will remain on jack stands
apparently, when gm made the dana44 w/ the tq arm mount, they found it unnecessary to position the tq arm mount in the same dimension forwards/backwards as the stock 10 bolt's because the tq arm was mounted to the trans w/ a slip joint clam shell so it would be fine. i have a solid chassis mount spohn tq arm so the 1/4 inch that the 44's mount is sitting forward is not allowing my lca's to rear their mounts! i had EVERYTHING ready to go, cleaned/polished and i pick the rear up today, drive to college station to get spacers, get a new u-joint put on my axle, get back at 11pm, slide the rear in, tq arm on, brakes, shocks, two lca's left and it's on the road! but alas GM's impeccable quality control has destroyed all hope of going tomorrow.
i could elongate the holes on the tq arm so the rear could slide forward, but that seems like it would leave alot of slop... im getting up at 7-730 to try to find a solution. any ideas?
Re: Official Summer 2009 Houston Area Thirdgen Gathering: Post here!
I think you can get away with slotting the holes a little. As long as the bolts are tight the clamping effect of the upper & lower flat mounting surfaces won't allow the rear to move up or down. That is the only job of the torque arm anyway. And if it bothers you, you can always plug weld the holes back up & re-drill them in the right spot.
I just pulled up a pic of the spohn mount.. If the rear is too far away it doesn't look like you have enough material to go in that direction with the bracket though.
Best of luck either way.
