Re: Florida Gathering!!
Well, it sucks but I'm not going to be able to make it. Work has been horrible lately (flat rate tech) and money is way too tight to be able to go. Gas would kill me. If any of the Orlando guys want to meet up one night though I'd be in for that.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Plus, my wife is going to have to make an emergency trip to Costa Rica to visit her mom who's not doing well. That puts an extra, unplanned, financial stress on us right now, so I'm not sure we'll be able to make it either. That sucks, 'cause I worked hard all summer getting this stinking car back on the road with this event in mind.
There's this TGO member from West Palm Beach that is thinking about buying it, hopefully we can come to an agreement on the price but that was before the tranny decided to quit on me.

Man, there's always something with these cars. I don't know why we love them so much!

Built, maybe you could hitch a ride with someone. At least you will have gone.

I'm still going to try to make the meet. Trying to find head gaskets for 4.060", not too easy.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Today I will finish polishing the calipers. Also, it looks like one taillight is darker than the other when I blacked them out. Easy fix though. I will sand the darker one a bit until it is the same shade as the other. Need to start on the interior and engine bay detailing. Luckily for me, my wife is going to be helping so I won't be doing it alone.

Page 8 must be the cancellation page. I just got word that I'm closing on my house on the 15th. So both cars won't be attending.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
thank you. i knew somebody would come through. yes, its marked rear. i would like to get a rim before the meet-up, if i can. is shipping one before the gathering a possibility? IDK if they would care about a little swap meet or not? probably not, if its kept small and neat.
I finally went over to the JY today and they had two 16" IROC wheels. One front & one rear. (photos courtesy of Motobooks)

the guy said $30 each w/o the tires, but the tires were shot anyways. They are at an LKQ over in Daytona Beach. Not sure if you'd want to head over there and get them or not. I figured I would at least pass-on the information though.
Edit: Crap, photos didn't work Luis. Maybe you can post them or send me the JPG's

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Congrats! Not all of us are having car trouble and making it difficult/impossible for us to attend the gathering. Good for you!

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Does anyone who reserved a campsite still have room? You are allowed 2 tents and 6 people total. I know a group of 3 who are looking to share/split cost of a campsite. They are all reserved according to the website. Let me know asap. Thanks.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Wayyyy better, so much smoother, and quieter. Don't have the noise from the roller rockers anymore, that and the old motor was so worn out it would sometimes idle, sometimes not. Going for the first test drive tonight to check how we are on timing, but otherwise as soon as its registered and insured it'll be road worthy.
Eventually I want to put my 60mm on it, with a T-5 behind it.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Rubber, are you getting together with a group from the Orlando area to cruise out here?
If anyone is coming from far, feel free to PM me your phone # incase anything happens. If you are fairly close by, surely someone can be of assistance to you. At least you won't be stranded.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
I will be bringing the IROC and all her extras and new parts with the hopes that she sells for what I want out of her. If not, no worries. I'll just keep her and continue to clean her up.
Jim, did they find a campsite? I still have room, and may even be having to bail and not sleep over. I'm not bringing the dogs either. No way they're getting in the new car. I will probably be there around 1 or 2, Kei has a game a 10 in Holiday.

I'm out for the count. I think the GTA finally spun a bearing. I'd be down for any Orlando meets however. Hopefully get this taken care of soon.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Also, we don't have anyone bringing food to sell. Since this was the first one(I mean second, we only had 3 cars at last years) and there is no telling how many people will show, we just wanted it to be as simple as possible. Now, I was thinking of bringing drinks and possibly a couple packs of hot dogs to grill (depends on $$). Everyone is more than welcome to contribute something if they like though. This event is bring your own food for this year.

Re: Florida Gathering!!
Um.....not trying to be a dick but a caliper takes all of maybe 20 min. to change.....where do u live maybe someone in your area can give you a hand that way you can make it..........there are to many people dropping out for various reasons, the more people that show the better it will be!!!!!
