drop-top IROC

Spent my friday in beautiful Wilmington- Both 'Pick your Part' yards on Blinn St. are flowin' with 3rd gens. The yard south of PCH had 21 and the yard north of PCH had at least 15. Some of the highlights: A nice, well optioned '89 350 IROC-Z that was almost completely intact- 2 guys were doing a hack job on removing the motor when I rolled up but I did get the fog lights and inst. cluster. It still had the 9-bolt in it, but I didn't check the gears. Also a Formula 350, another firebird with complete TPI intact, etc etc. At the north yard, there were 2 5.0 H.O.'s, (got a very clean dual snorkel air cleaner!) and another complete TPI unit. I didn't have my torx bits, so I couldn't take the TPI units off. I didn't even have time (or energy) to make it over to Ecology. If anyone needs parts, get on it early tomorrow! :lala:

So the Pick a Part on the right side of Pch the big yard had the 89 Iroc and Formula? Was this in the newer section part where you have to pay extra to go in? hmm Most likely the 9 bolt is 3:27's but if it has the 89 style brakes that be a deal. Good finds..:lala:

No, the formula and '89 IROC were in the small yard (South of PCH), not the big yard (North) that has the separate section for later model cars.

Wow that's rare usually they put all the good stuff in the big yard in that section, and they have core buyers strip the motors and trans out soon as it hits the ground.
