My speedo is accurate, finally!

Today after work I installed the speedo gear Jerry made up for me. I now show a speed of 70 mph at 2000 rpm, and my shift light no longer comes on in 5th gear. With the old speedo gear I was seeing an indicated 55mph at an actual 70, and I would get a shift light when I was already in 5th. I'm wondering if the ecm turns on the shift light when the speed and rpm don't add up?

No, the shift light comes on because it is set in the chip to come on at a certain RPM, and for some reason your chip is set for a 6-speed transmission instead of 5-speed.

Interresting! I ran my speed up to 85 and briefly touched 90 before backing off, and the light never came on. It was coming on between 2000 and 2500 rpm before.
