T-top glass polishing in So Cal?

Does anyone here know where I can get my glass T-tops polished here in So. Cal? I tried looking for a more mint set at the junkyard, but it's almost impossible to find a pair of tops that have no scratches at the pick a part yards. From what I've read, you can polish the glass ones with the right equipment, but where do I take them?

Thanks.

Thanks.

There has to be a way to polish a set of glass tops to like new condition. That is, if the scratches don't catch on your fingernail. I've found a few places back east that do this service, but the shipping charges and the risk of breakage make me leary of going that route.

I thought if anyone here had their glass T-tops polished, they'd be able to tell me where to bring them and how they came out.

I know of the product "Mothers" that will clean up and polish plastic & glass, plus remove a lot of the pits on there. It's a foamy ball set-up that attaches to a cordless drill

Might help

I don't have t-tops. Are they glass or lexan? If they are glass, there are companies that will come to your house or business and repair scratches and pits. Their main business is fixing stone chips in windshields before they crack. If it is lexan or other plastic, the mother's product will work, and you can do it yourself.

Russ,

The T-tops are glass. I have a set of Lexan tops as well, but I know how to polish those with the wet sanding/polishing equipment I have for the exterior paint.

Glass is a much harder substance to polish and you need special equipment (glass polishing discs/water fed orbital polisher to keep the glass from getting too hot when polishing and all that) to do it properly. I have some light scratches on my side windows I'd to get polished out as well. Most of the places I've called so far want to steer me away from polishing glass into buying new glass. I guess they make more money that way or something

I thought about getting all the stuff to do it myself, but I think it would be better to just spend the $$ to have a professional do it. The special water fed orbital glass polishers are a few hundred dollars alone.

I was hoping someoen here would have experience in getting this done so as to know what I should expect in terms of expectations and results and where to go.
