The ss didnt come with an interior. If it did I think id still keep the stockers.
Im not the fastest, but I am fastER. I do think im having the most fun though. Its not just the swap, the steering and suspension are all rebuilt and I upgraded the brakes. My iroc is a pleasure to drive and when I turn it on it returns the favor.

Oh well that's cool.. Sounds more like a track car more than a drag car.. So why believe to think to yourself you take on these Tpi's? You knew that wasnt happening.. Freeways my more larger size engine and way more power engine gets the same mpg your getting now. Traffic well that's a diffrent story because of the high torque curve. So anyways keep it cool and just enjoy it. You did pretty good. Ls1 swaps are just not most of our venues. I need to redo my front end also. I have replaced the ball joints but I should have done everything else. My Iroc steering box needs rebuilt. I just need for some one to tell me where to go local and drop it off. Id probably take it to my friends shop take it off an have it rebuilt and replace the front end parts. But that's the last on my list if I do start pouring money into it.

you should get the car tuned but easy on the launching youll break that diff!
these cars are completely new beast when you install the ls transplant.

what Drag race record that needs to be set is the Irwindale. Not the 1/4 mile. We need to find out who is the fastest in less amount of time and less track equals driver experience.
Did you see the Vid of me deep staging that ls1 and how hard I pulled on him? That's a huge torque difrence and to get that out of a ls1 you need internals modded.
Of course a ls1 can do ok on the freeway.. But when you have a tpi producing more torque it's just going to pull on you.
The Ls1 just isnt the engine that our 3rdgens are building. There cheap motors. For what you both pay for each ls1 is what I paid just for my long block, no heads just the vortec block the 400 crank plus the 200-300 into the crank the rods the forged pistons. The value of the ls1 just isnt there. There newer there a nice block but money wise. The Tpi has it out numbered. Just in My Super Ram honing a lone and the 1000cfm lingenfelter throttle body alone is over a grand. Then you have Chorme plating thats a bill there. Were not even to the price of the Super Ram yet led alone the base and the port work. Not even the cost of porting the heads. Not even the cost of upgrading valve train etc. not even the rockers the push rods. And not even the cam, the lifters the 30lb svt injectors.. It adds up to an easy 15k in a complete build. rear end trans lca's global west pan hard, relocation brackets headers sub frame connectors, Alum water pump, High torque starters, flex plate. Ecu re wiring for speed density. You know all this.. So untill you spend that kind of money I think the no comment is like hey it's just wrecker engines and they need to be built before we can say anything ls1 vs Tpi.. There is so many diffrent cars each have there own combo. Nobody has my combo, I built a Gm platform engine.. That's what I did and to produce 442 rwtq that is pretty dam good.

Very Understandable, but you have Warren Johnson build the platform of the ls1.. were still using pretty old motors. So yeah the build platform can go as high as a 1,000 hp.. A SS produces 345hp. You added some headers and X pipe so you increased a few hp there. Time slips honestly dont mean the fair game. The fair game is on the Dyno an to the ground. So all this drag talk is just B.S thats why there is no comment. If we ran Id say the same thing no comment, because it be look at your weight savings and etc etc gears auto or 6 speed etc. Unless it's Dyno Jet and get tuned hp and torque.. Then there is your answer. So get those Ls1's to a Dyno then we can see whats what. Vincent doesnt have the torque like i have, he has me in hp by very little but hell I wasnt even done tuning. This was just some start tuning range. So I can easily make that hp back with tuning.

You have not seen me because my car has been off the streets since 2007 and Im not a member of sc3gfb and never was really. I went to a few meets, that was just to hang out with some close friends. Most of my friends have moved on. They have built there thirdgen and moved on. And some are like me for several years our cars have been sitting. Mine is garaged and driven on private property roads for the seals for the transmission etc. Irwindale that was a long long time ago. Mike was there Alex was there, he sold his thirdgen.. pretty nice resortation sold over seas. And Julie was there. Im sure we mentioned to people we were going. Don knew we were going and Allen knew we were going. He was more than nice enough to loan me his Et streets so I do good my first time drag racing.
And yes I like your car from what I see. Everyone likes there thirdgen's for what they are. You have a very nice car infact. You just have spent your money on diffrent things than I have.
I h ave been a member here with Tgo for just as long as Kevin has we probably got our thirdgens around the same time. And Kevin was the one that got his dad to start working on thirdgens and he has done very well over the years. For some may know that Don isnt my best of best friend, we have went our own ways. People say I say bad things about him then I say good things. Don is what he is an there is no changing that. It's hard to put a very experienced mechanic in this field. Im sure he has had his good build and some just some slight problems. Nothing is perfect. He built my car and it is what it is and if he feels I got what I paid for with what I had then maybe some of the bad shouldnt have been said. But if you have a number of people going on your side on the out look of things, you most likely stick with your friends and you battle this disagreement out. I like to cover it hear because I respect Don in a diffrent way. The man has spoken with me so much and tried to teach me an understand most things about thirdgens. It's just like Don teaching Kevin things. The respect for that never goes away. Same as the respect that you may have for people or members that have helped you out with your thirdgen or teach you knowledge.

Ok here is one thing for you to understand, Get off my case already. Look computers hide peoples expressions. And a Auto is not just drive and go, you shift it and it's actually takes more of mechanic skill to tune it over a clutch and shift. Yeah sure the Stick is nice for the power, but your losing a tenth of a second or more when my auto shifting is already hitting the next gear. The fellows with six speeds know it takes skill to where it does not effect there run. So yeah I don't know where this B. S comes from people saying can you handle the power. Different track yeah.. In fact there was a track show down with Mike P an his thirdgen V-8 Vs a Six cyl thirdgen that gave him a pretty good run. I honestly that Mike would have won but that was not the case. So of course at different track events Power doesn't always rule.
I just keep the 442 in the Tpi's mind that's there goal. Hey I cant help it if there just building 355 or slightly larger. What's wrong with a stroker? Id still run well with my own class. As you can see with the Pinto at Irwindale in the vid..

Whoa back the train up Mr. 96 post.. You have a mis comprehension problem your not understanding what were talking about. Drag racing you all cant seem to get passed that. A lot of people think I cant drag race or I cant control the power.. Your behind with the conversation through out months that since I been back and talking with people. Hell yeah I'm going to stand up for the Tpi's.. That's why I don't even have to prove anything nor do I need to ask for any comments of my runs. Results are results and if you cant see passed that then your lost in a black hole some where.

As far as him calling you out, it is probably the same reason I got on here to call you out also. STFU you sound like an idiot that is giving OUR TPI cars a bad name. Yes I have a TPI car, and a few LS cars, let me know when you want to compare dyno graphs because I have a smaller LS engine that will put you to shame or wait will you start bringing up someone else up that has something faster right?

Yes I have a TPI car, and a few LS cars, let me know when you want to compare dyno graphs because I have a smaller LS engine that will put you to shame or wait will you start bringing up someone else up that has something faster right?

I was just stopping by to see Gene and the new people Im sending his way. He was showing me his Land Rover he is selling, my wife wants one but it's a 05 with body damage a little more wear than my 04 malibu.. He asking a bit to much, i mentioned payments for a year pay off. Guess he needs all cash, says he needs a Car a Zo6.. I told him he better have a heavy wallet for what a z06 is and just imagine he would probably be making it much faster but legal. lol..

No buddy the problem is when someone created a thread saying that there is a china ebay knock off of Don's headers you went on bashing Don that he copied SLP. Of course you were proven stupid. I have installed my own trans on the ground I have installed the Super Ram by myself. I dont build block neither did haze. I dont do mandrel bend cat backs. It's a swap you install it and go. I have worked on more cars in one month than this kid has in his whole life so shut up and I have done all kinds of work on my Iroc.. So no no It's on theres the poll.
