play in steering

Engine: 350 vortec TPI

Transmission: 95 T56

play in steering

i have some play in the wheel it apears to be were the steering colum connects to the steering box there is some kind of a universal joint there what can i do about this. is this normal

I believe I had the same issue before myself and I just replaced the whole steering box , but beware , it's not cheap. I believe it ran me ~$300.
