quick question on brakes...

in all the ls1 and c4&c5 brake swaps, you all are starting with 1le stuff right. can i do the swap with the plain jane brakes. will the bracketry be the same? i know i have to cut one of the ears off the spindle. am i in the wrong by taking my rotors and turning them down to 5.9 diameter for the vette or ls1 rotors, and i can fab the brackets, is the spindle going to work or do i have to get the 1le's? i have not done a swap like this before so please bear with the silly questions. i am putting a 4th gen rear in from with the wilwood 6 pistons already on it from a grand american gt class trans am racecar.3.23 limited slip w/o clutches

cutting the ears off the spindle, is making it a 1le spindle. when you do the 1le conversion, you have to cut those off.

You'll have to elaborate on these statements a bit. The only thing common between all the setups you mentioned is the hubs and spindles, all other brackets are different, at least mine are. YOu have to cut both ears off the spindles and none of the stock brake parts are used except the brake lines if you don't upgrade to braided oines.
