Car: 1982 SC/1984 Z28
Engine: 305 4BBL/305 4BBL H.O.
Transmission: 700R4/700R4
Axle/Gears: 4th Gen 3.23 Posi/3.73 10 Bolt
Strange Rear End Noises
I just know you guys are gonna flame me on this one, but i have to try. Let me list what's new in the rear end before i explain the problem
New:
Shocks (Monroe Sensa-Trac)
Rotors
Pads
Calipers
Control Arms (Poly Bushings)
Panhard Bar (Poly Bushings)
Torque Arm Bushing (Poly)
Brake Lines and Hoses
The Rear End is out of a 94. It's a 3.23 Posi. It felt tight and looked good when i lifted the cover. I added some new Valvoline Limited Slip Gear Oil.
Now Comes the Part you guys are gonna flame me for:
I usually have my windows down when i drive since there is no AC. I haven't yet put a radio in the car either. While driving i keep hearing this Sh-shhh-shhh sound when i hit bumps. I'm 250LBS. I figured i needed to lube my poly bushings or that it was just the shocks. Tonight i picked up a friend of mine to go bowling. I had myself, 75LBS of bowling ***** and him (Approx 350LBS) in the car. As i drove the car made a constant, almost grinding sound. I have 16" 4th gen wheels and my rear tires are 245/50s. The fender wells don't look like there was any scrubbing. The brakes didn't feel like they were overheating either. I know that the car was probably over-weighted, but I can't help thinking that there's some kind of other problem.

Re: Strange Rear End Noises
