Spring rubber grommets?

Spring rubber grommets?
Okay, so I got my new Spohn Control arms with the ball joint in, and I'm about ready to put in the springs. But when my old spring came out, I noticed there is was only one of those rubber grommet things, and it was just on the bottom where the spring was resting in the control arm, but nothing in the spring chamber. Is there supposed to be 1 on top and then on the bottom? I'm gonna put in the springs using the Haynes book method, but I'm gonna chain the spring to the control arm. Any last tips before I do this tommorrow?
