Hood Fitment with TBI and GMPP Intake 1249681

I'm looking for advice on stock hood fitment on a L05 TBI swap with vortec heads. I plan to run a 9C1 TBI unit and I would like to keep my L69 aircleaner.

Mocked up on the on the engine stand it looks really tall.

Here is what I have:
L05 out of a 91 Caprice... 9.5:1 flat tops
Stock out of the box vortec heads
GMPP TBI Vortec Intake (1249681)
L69 dual snorkel air cleaner...

Anyone tried anything like this? Will it fit under a stock 83 Z28 steel (or plastic) hood(s)... I have both hoods for the car. (if one has more clearance than the other.

How do I measure this mess (straight edge to China wall? ) and what number should I hope for? How close can the injectors be to the air cleaner lid?

Would Pictures help?

TBI unit and air cleaner are the same as stock in terms of height.

The only thing different is the manifold. How much higher is the manifold than the stock one?

How much hood clearance is there above the stock system? Is the new manifold going to remove all the hood clearance? Keep in mind that the engine shakes, and lifts on acceleration. Rotted body or subframe mounts will reduce hood clearance. If you need a little extra clearance, you could shim the mounts after assuring that they're still in good condition.

I have not measured the amount of clearance on the car now... But I did measure the stock TBI intake vs the GMPP. The using the distributor mount hole as a common reference the height of the GMPP intake is almost exactly the same as the stock TBI intake... (within an 1/8") of each other, that is good news.

GM did use several different "spacers" between the top of the TBI unit and the air cleaner. Last time I was at the wrecker I scored a really short metal one. That one combined with the TBI makes the whole thing the same height as a QJet... No way that was just a coincidence.

Maybe I could asks the same question a different way...

For QJet Cars, does anyone know what is the tallest intake that works with the stock air cleaners?

The "Carb Pad Height" of the GMPP look to be very close to 4.5"

UPDATE.

I was hoping for a simple solution to this problem, that didn't involve measuring the car... (you know the right way)... I just moved to a new house and the Zee is buried beneath 20 years worth moving boxes and junk... Measuring the car would be a pain... Ah what the heck, I got to dig the car out eventually anyway...

How I measured...

First try, I put an egg carton on the top air cleaner. (with the hope of better than 1" of clearance.) Nope squashed carton... So now I have a rough idea of how much silly putty I need. Plus I can see that the front of the air cleaner is tight, there is lots of room at the back.

Second Try, Wife brings red silly putty egg to garage. I made a 2" tall phallic shaped thing (wife makes inappropriate joke) stick it to the "second ring" of the air cleaner lid, near the front.... slam hood (twice)
silly putty makes a perfect swash of the hood.

Clearance 0.8" (plus a little more as the hood needs adjustment and sits about 3/16" low.)

Still in the car, I put a straight edge on the air cleaner and measured the vertical at the front china wall.. 9.2"

So now I have to transfer that clearance to the new engine.

I mock up the new engine with the TBI, short spacer and L69 Air Cleaner. I throw a straight edge on top of the air cleaner and I measure the front china wall again.. 9.7...

So I have .3" of clearance.

Is that right? Is this a valid way of doing this?
