Borrowed and advance timing light from someone. They had never used it and didn't have directions. Is the correct way to use one of these to set it at what degree you want your engine to be at, and then it should show up at 0% before tdc on your guage. ex If I want my engine to be at 35%btdc at 3500 rpms, I would set the timing light at 35% and when I take the car up to 3500 rpms it should show 0 on the scalel Does this sound right???? It is a craftsman advance timing light with the dial. Thanks

just an fyi, if you hold 'alt' while you punch in 0176 on the number pad on the right side of your keyboard, it'll make the degree symbol. you want 35°btdc, not 35%btdc.
