Casting number ??'ss Head and Block

Hi Guys

I just broke my crank in two and have to find a suitable
replacement. I found this 5.7 motor at a junkyard and
the guy tell's me it was out of an 89 Chev 4X4 truck he
thinks. Here are the casting numbers motor 10054727
and heads 14102193.

Could any one give me some info on this set up and
can I use it to put into my 1986 Iroc-Z tpi.

thanks,

Jamie

The block is OK to use. The heads are garbage with no redeeming qualities (and there's a down side to them too). Throw them away and re-use your L98 heads.

Of course, L98 heads are pretty much garbage too. Not sure what your budget looks like, but this is the time to think about moving up to a better casting...

Contraire, contraire.

Have you been sniffing too many Mustang fumes???

The L98 heads are a good stock head. Very good.
