Bucking Bonco TransAm!
Car is screwy.
At low revs, giving the car more than 1/4 throttle will cause it to stutter, bog, hestitate, backfire through the carb on occasion, and generally act upset. Also, blipping the throttle at cruise will have the same effect.
Also, the tach will go nuts, bouncing around +/- 700 RPM of where the engine is really revving (choking) at.
This only occurs while the car is fully warmed up, which would leave me to believe that, coupled with the screwy tach, this is an ignition problem.
Before I drop cash on replacing the coil/module only to find out with disappointment that this is not the source of my woes, can anyone suggest anything else?
Car is not computer controlled, FWIW, stock Qjet with the stock distributor as it is a canadian car.
What is the lifespan of a module/coil anyhow? its been awhile since i changed 'em up...
thanks guys,
