That makes things interestion. It is hard to guesstimate at the power or how it will be on fuel or anything like that without knowing what the cam is or the heads for that matter. Are there any visible markings on the heads that indicate who makes them? Aluminum doesnt say much, short of what the heads are made of. Could you post pics of under the valve covers (rocker arms/springs, etc).

Do you have emissions testing?

OOH yea, thats right. I read that. Also, i misread. YOURE in E. Texas and the CAR is in NJ. For that matter, i dont think you have emissions.

How fluent are you with small chevies? Did they leave you with any forms of receiepts or anything?

*edit* nice interior!

Don't worry man, it won't be too much car for you. I got my 95 Trans Am, learned how to drive manual on it (as it's a 6 speed). Everyone said it would be too much car for me. I was fine. Then again i have a high 13- low 14 second car. I also drove my pop's 96 Viper GTS and he FORCED me to punch it. I was able to handle it with no problem and only my second week of driving stick. That's auto so you can hold the wheel with both hands and concentrate fully on steering and what not as opposed to having to worry about shifting and our little friend the redline. Either way, good luck!

with 9:1 compression and only 6 pounds of boost you should be good to go on hig test.
The red line on the shifter was only 5, so you may want to look into that.
you also want to go 70 on the highway and find out what gear ratio you have in the thing.
Also if I were you I would ditch the cam and put in your own one so you know what its shift point is, or take it to a dyno and they will tell you.
My thougts though

the white and gold exterior paint combo look awesome! not too crazy about the "woodwork" on the inside though.

WOW, great find. Having had older vehicles that were well over 400 HP not quite the 500 you posted but darn close and i must say that they are a blast to drive, that won't be too much to handle at all. Heck once you get in and drive that sucker, just look in the rearview for the Shat eating grin that will be on your face... That is by far one of the cleanest original lookin interiors that i have yet to see. Once again good find, and welcome to the board

Cameron,

Hey, I have the paxton ball drive unit. A lot of people say they are junk. Just do not spin the supercharger over 38K rpms and you will be fine! And make sure to get the oil cooler if it does not have it already. They do require you to change the oil frequently, do not over spin them and they can treat you right. If time comes for a rebuild, let me know, I can walk ya through it!

If it really runs an 11.35 i don't think you'll have to much trouble with that as long as you can keep the rubber from flying off the wheels.

My thougts though

I'd take it to a dyno, taking the cam out doesn't seem to smart, it could be matched to the heads/blower, putting something else in there might screw the whole thing up.

i'm 6'1" and i still have a few inches of head room, you'll probably be ok. your biggest problem is gonna be getting those huge feet of yours under the dash.

dang, thats a horrible thing. i'd contact an attorney and see what legal rights you have immediatly. I'd also leave a message or e-mail with them (both the seller and the shipping company) letting them know that you are contacting an attorney and the authorities for both your and his area. Good luck, I hope it works out for ya.

I got a hold of the car dealer and he told me that it is STILL sitting in PA even after he told me it WAS on the way.

I am so pissed off......

The shipping company is a scam from what I understand they take your deposit and never come pick up the car...which he recommended me using them....he claims he sends cars all over the US but I find it hard to believe that he can't find a shipping company...and the one he sets up takes a hundred and fifty dollar deposit....

The dealer is a liar as well, he told me he had SHIPPED the title overnight and I got it almost a week later. He told me the car HAD BEEN SHIPPED but it is still sitting at the dealership...

I am planning on taking a plane to PA and pick it......but I have some problems controlling anger when I have be ****ed over....and this will render an *** whippin for sure

We all feel your pain, I'm pretty sure of that.
There's nothing like that sinking feeling you get when a seller suddenly loses interest in staying in contact after you money is in his hands.
It sounds like you have a legit reason to miss a few days of work and go out there and handle the matter personally.
Best of luck, I hope it's just an issue of "poor service after the sale" and we get some glowing reports on how well your car runs after you get behind the wheel.

Car: No more birdy
I think its time to buy a one way plane ticket or get one of the nice members or 10 that live in that area to swing over to that dealer and see whats up.

Oh you should fit just fine I'm 6.4' and fit very comfortably in the bird, I wish it had a bit more foot room but as long as I dont have my work boots on no problem. My dad fit fine too and he was 6.11' thats why the seats not only slide back but tilt.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you (20 and just bought a built GTA). However, I TEST DROVE mine first! I just skimmed over this thread but I got the impression that you just ordered it. It looks like a very nice clean ride from the pics, and I honestly hope things work out for the best for you. You are one ballzy mother****er! I would say based on my experience with this car, you will probably be disappointed in its streetability. This car could make a GREAT weekend cruiser, but it will not be the best daily driver. But it's stories like this that make me glad I'm only 5'10" (but 190 lbs so I don't have to take crap from too many people ) I think my car is probably high 12, low 13 material, and it's a blast. Your car should be a hell of a ride if you can ever get them to ship... How much did you pay BTW???

Well, I would smile and nod until I got my car and then I would post negative feedback on him regardless. I sell on ebay everyday and that is why they have that feature. The man promised you something on a timeline and he didn't deliver like he said he would. So no matter how satisfied you are with the car, you need to post negaitve feedback on the shipping regardless. Ofcourse he is going to try to talk you into not leaving negative feedback, he knows he f'd up! But, that's just my opinion. I'm kinda a hard @$$ when it comes to stuff like this.

I get the last laugh.....i'm waiting till an hour before the expiration to put in negitive feedback and i'm leaving a nasty one.

"Doesn't return calls, puts you on backburner when he gets money"

He will have to switch ebay ids after something like that.

Axle/Gears: Not there yet...
If you're 6'5" with a size 16 shoe, I think all you'll have to do is just show up.............

Seriously, I'd fly up there and get my damn car. Take a couple of sick days or something and come back with either the car or your money.

Man, that's crazy! If I spent $8500 on a used car, I'd expect it to be driving it in a week or less.

My recommendation to you: get your deposit back and find yourself a dependable shipper. I wouldn't accept any of the "Oh, we're really sorry. We promise to ship it tomorrow." bologna either. Just get your money back. They don't deserve your business. When you find another shipper, be sure to get the details of when it will be picked up and when it will arrive in writing (email or fax).

I wouldn't just settle for leaving negative feedback either. I'd open a case with the Better Business Bureau (http://www.bbb.org) and if I couldn't get a refund on my deposit, I'd seriously consider filing a complaint with the Attorney General's Office (http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/ppd/bcp/index.cfm).

Whatever you do, don't let this go for too long. It's already been 3+ weeks. If you wait much longer, you may lose important avenues of recourse.

Best of luck!

contact fraud.org They got the tonneau cover for my S-10 for me when the guy would not ship the thing. The guy is probably outr driving the car beating the **** out of it and saying it is his. I wouldnt give a flying sh*t about college when it comes down to me spending $8,500 on a friggin car that i havent recieved in 3-4 weeks 1-2 weeks for that matter. You must not car enough to get the car.

You have no idea how many problems you are gonna have with this thing... But I think you'll still be happy about the purchase.
