TQ converter?

I was thinking of putting a converter in my car, like a 2400-2800 stall and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions. I really don't completely understand how they work or how they affect drivability. I read they are worth like 2-5 tenths once you learn how to launch. My car isn't cammed, my mods are in my sig. I know gas mileage is going to go down but my car only comes out under blue skies or on my weekend, definately nowhere near a daily driver. I just want to make this thing go as fast as I can on a stock engine for now, any comments?

as far as i have researched on here higher stalls under normal driving hardly effects driving conditions at all from a stock stall.

you get what you pay for as far as converters go. do some more searching on here and i think it seems that a 2800 would be good for what you have, i dont know for sure though.
