Need help ASAP
Car is a 89 v6, 2.8 with 140k. Heres the problem. I was driving the other day to school and my car lost most of its power ( you know how that happens when a spark plug wire gets burnt ) Luckily i make it there. After it sits for a few hours I go out to start it, it starts up fine, then after a min it stalls. I start it again, after a few rotations, and it starts up again. Shortly stalls again while im driving it. After a few more rotations it starts again and i get her on the highway. About a mile or so into at about 60mph it just cuts off.... I then try to start it but im not successful this time. It's completly dead, just keeps rotating. Two hours i return and crank it over, it starts, but is running crappy like I mentioned earlier so i dont chance it. SOunds to me like a fuel problem but what??? Could or could it not be the fuel pump? Maybe a really clogged fuel filter??? Any ideas or suggestions to help me getting it fixed would be appreciated

Check the fuel pressure, WHILE IT"S IN THE ACT OF MAFUNCTIONING.
If it won't start, spray some gasoline or starting fluid into the TB; if it starts, it's a fuel problem.
You troubleshoot a fuel filter by replacing it. If you haven't already changed it since you started having this problem, then you should. Go change it and see if it helps (probably won't but you never know).
If it has low fuel pressure after that, it needs a fuel pump.

Also check to see if you're getting any spark while it's not starting. Could be a bad ignition module in the distributor....

Had the ignition module, and the distributor replaced, fuel filter is rather new. Fuel pump was makin a loud humming noise when coming on prior to this incident, would huuuuuummmm for a few seconds then stop. I'm going to try and pick up a fuel pressure gauge today.
