How come.......?¿

Hey guys my car has a 5.7 in it, (Code 8 on the Vin) when I open the hood, the hood has a decal under, the one that says (5.7 on it and has the vacuum line diagram on it) it says the spark plug gap is .035, but when I check the owners manual that the car comes with, it says that engine code 5.7) should be .045?¿ what is it? why are they saying two different gaps? Any of you have the same thing?
Thanks
Mike
